hazy dark yellow, whispy white head, spicy malt aroma with a nice sweet fruity touch, robust body especially for a saison, lots of spicy flavor, mostly dry, light bitterness in the finish from the spices,

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2007 Yeast aroma was very strong on pour - just like I had hoped for. Lighter body and beautiful golden color. High carbonation made this one quite fizzy. Citrus hop notes intensified a bit as the beer warmed. Notes included some banana or cloves as well. Nice subtle bitterness on finish. I really enjoyed this one. Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA

Beer poured with a lovely pale golden color with nice bubbly head. The aroma of this beer was awful. It smelled...not quite skunky, but skunkyesque. The mouthfeel was dry and carbonation. The taste just wasn’t really there (and it was the first beer of the night, so no palate issues). Citrusy tasting but little sweetness. I’ll take Hennepin every day of the week over this (and it’s cheaper, too). steelers37 (62), little ferry, New Jersey, USA

Pours a cloudy, effervescent whitish-yellow color; fluffy white head with web-like lacing. Some toasty vanilla and lemons and coriander in the aroma. Boozy, medium mouthfeel: spritzy lemons and chewy esters; overly sweet saison, not to style at all. Lengthy, candy sugar and lemony finish. jmcinerny (15), Maryland, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 22, 2007 750ml bottle bought in College Park MD. Lots of sediment that I stirred up. Poured quite cloudy and looked great. Was surprised that this was a saison. It tastes more like a sour ale. Perhaps if it were called a sour then I would give it high marks. I do not get any clove or bubblegum that I expect of a saison. I love this brewery and thought that I would be biased to high marks just because of the name. Everything else I have had from Victory is great. jasonp (1513), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2007 Bottled 4/1/05. Cloudy golden yellow with a white head which fades quickly into a foam ring around the glass. Light banana, clove and a hint of spice in the nose. Flavor has notes of light pils malt, slight hint of graininess, banana/clove, lemon/citrus, some noble hop grassiness and a hint of spice. Moderately sweet, just enough bitterness for balance. Finishes dry. Medium bodied with lively, fizzy carbonation. Overall, pretty solid but it’s missing the level of complexity found in other Saisons.
