Commercial Description:
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

[147-20061221] 750mL. Boozy, burnt bubbly aroma. Cloudy, pale orange-yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Flavour has tangy blunt edge on light citrus and medium alcohol, like pineapple. Medium body. Very nice aroma, great togetherness.

Hazy golden with big bright-white head. Aroma is Appley acetic, and mildly spicy. Taste is, well... fizzy with a bit of sweetness and spice. Not one of my favorites from this otherwise excellent brewer. $7/750ml

Medium orange color - hazy with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet malts, some fruit and a hint of spice and yeast. Flavor is fairly sweet, with some spiciness and a slightly tart finish.

750ml bottle via trade with MrBendo. Bottled 4/01/05. Aroma: Big lemon zest, orange, pepper, perfumey floral, yeast, and a light dusty funk aroma. Appearance: Lemony yellow in color and cloudy. Bright white head was huge and foamy with good retention. Nice lacing. Flavor: Wheat malt, yeast, lemon, peppery spice, light pineapple. Dry finish. Alcohol becomes more noticeable as it warms. Palate: Medium bodied. High carbonation. Light alcohol warming in back of mouth. Overall: Pretty good saison. Nice levels of citrus, spice, and funk. Good stuff.

2.3.07 Bottle dated Apr 1, 2005. I’m a fairly big fan of Victory brews. Very satisfied with the Saison although it is not the best ever. Worth a try at least

From a corked bottle dated 1 Apr 2005. This poured with a tornadic flourish of carbonation and a firm layer of white foam for a head. Nice orange-yellow flavor. Slight yeasty nose wtih a orange twist. Nice creamy and smooth mouthfeel, but almost mushy with a wet grass character. The almost reminds me of an American wheat with some hop bitterness. Grated lemon zest, bit of herbal body ... nice beer, as expected from Victory. (#2675, 2/2/07)

Very enjoyable. Big aroma of, well, farm. Wet grain, yeast. lemony undertone darts in and out of the peppery and spicy flavors, finishing nicely dry.
