Commercial Description:
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

pours a hazy light orange with a big but quickly dissipating off white head. good carbonation. Aroma is of sweet apples, tangy citrus, orange peel, and spicy. Taste is earthy yeast, tangy citrus (orange peel), spicy, with a dry finish. could use a bit more funkiness, but pretty good overall.

Poured a hazy pale yellow with a small white head. Yeasty and fruity aroma with notes of lemon and orange flesh. Some phenolic spice. The flavor was fruity, yeasty, and spinced with a lively mouthfeel.

Bottle from Feb 06. Strong yeasty component with an overall fruity flavor, very bready and not strong in the funky department. Alcohol had a big kick and tasted a little too "american." There was little subtelty and complexity.

(750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy yellow body with an average-sized fizzy white head. Aroma of musty leaves, florals, and citrus. Flavor of spicy yeast, light citrus, and buttery with a soft palate. Descent saison that caught me by surprise.

Let me first say that I am not a Saison drinker, but decided to try this with some friends. Pours a deep yellow with foamy white head. Aroma of fruits -- banana, lemon, citrus. Has a little hop bite but mostly had a overpowering tart fruity taste. Not my kind of beer.

Pale golden-colored, cloudy body with nearly no head at all. Sticky sweet aroma of spices, honey and pears. But the flavor is actually not very sweet at all, and is very tart. Very typical Victory beer qualities to it. Strong carbonation. Lots of bananas and grass.

Cloudy golden color, with very small, soapy-looking head that disappears after a short while - aroma of banana, lemon zest, belgian candy sugars and earthy yeast tones - tingly carbonation (almost too much so) - tangy lemon and orange flavors, followed by some banana and honey, finishing with a mild sour/tartness - a little thin near the finish - quite drinkable, but not as strong an offering as Victory used to make - really quite uninteresting for the style - I’ve come to expect palate-confounding saisons like Fantome makes - this beer is like a prudish girlfriend; sure, it’s interesting at first, when you’re getting to know it, but after only a short while you start longing for something to add some SPICE to your experience.

Cloudy tangerine color in the glass -- nice white head is thick initially, but diminishes completely. Aromas of wheat and light fruit (oranges and pears) -- a deep sweetness and some earthy strains. After a hoppy bite, some nice tangy fruit and a dry finish. Alcohol is hidden throughout. Lots of flavor, but very smooth and well-integrated.
