Commercial Description:
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

Bottle thanks to 17thfloor. Almost clear orange with small creamy white head. Aroma is citrus, spice, peppery, yeasty with a little bit of sweetness. Flavor is spicey with sweeter grain but dryer finish, nice citrus with discernable amount of yeast and a little chalk. Medium to light body with active carbonation. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a fluffy head and aromas that are a mix of yeast, honey, lemons and grass. Flavor is a mix of the above with a bit of a spice and tomato (no kidding, but I get tomato out of this and it freaks me out!). Kind of a metallic/landfill edge to the finish. Not my thing...

Brewed in the USA..... On tap at the brewery !! Pours a deep golden color with a foamy white head. Aroma of yeast, spices, bananas and hops.Taste is of brett, bananas, yeast and some mild funk. Mouthfeel is kind of malty with some nice carbonation and a slight dry finish. Overall, pretty refreshing !!

(bottle) Pours gold with a medium white head that quickly settles to a thin white cap that then fades away. Aroma is really all over the map, but in a good way, with abundant floral scents, must, funk, coriander, orange peel, and some tomato juice which throws things off a bit. Herbal qualities too, with thyme being the most prominent, which begins to remind me of Italian sausage spices. Taste is light and sweet to begin with, but it quickly shifts into a strong spice assortment with coriander being the most prominent. A quick hit of lemon zest appears before the finish. The finish transitions to a lot of yeast, with some bread and little kicks of black pepper interspersed between the dry finish and some bitter hop as well. Mouthfeel is a little heavy for the style. This is a drinkable saison, and it would be more so if it were lighter, but at less than $4 a bomber, this is a great value for a solid beer.

This one poured a cloudy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was slight spice, a little grassy, some yeast. Flavor was a little bland compared to the aroma, slightly sweet, slightly hot, some spices and arefreshing, but nothing stand out here at all.

Bottle that Craig kindly shared with me. This was consumed in a field at Cropredy Festival 15-08-09 Pours cloudy amber with a white head. This came across as being a touch sweet for a saison though not to be to dismissed for this as it actually was refreshing and tasty, perhaps more Belgian ale with Saison twist. It was fruity, malty, nice tanginess to it, quite pokey, some spice not bad, once again cheers Craig. A6 A3 F7 P3 Ov13 3.2 </b
