Commercial Description:
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

Bottle at GBBF ’09. Gold with a white head. The aroma of this beer appears to be all things to all men. To me it was vegetal, like a waste disposal unit blocked with potato peelings. Taste was chewy, sweet and delightfully beguiling. Some dryness.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is quite nectary sweet along with some earthy and mildly sourish notes. Flavour is quite dry with tonguetickling carbonation. Rather lively beer., Flavour is quite citrusfruity and earthy with hints of heerbs.

Appearance: Pours out a deep golden body that would be clear were it not for a fine dusting of particles. Large, languishing, white head. Smell: Earthy, leafy, florals blend into tart fruity notes and, finally, we reach some faintly grainy malts sprinkled over with ground pepper and golden syrup. Taste: Lightly grainy pale malts with a distant hint of sourdough but more than a hint of simple syrup sweetness. Citrusy lemon, crisp apple, and tart pear fruitiness. Dash of fennel seeds and pepper. Lightly spicy, lightly leafy hops with a restrained level of bitterness. Mixture of sweetness, fruitiness, and spice until you reach the semi-dry, spiced finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-plus carbonation. Drinkability: A fairly good, fairly enjoyable stateside-brewed saison, though the body is heading towards being a bit too heavy for me.

Bottled on May 30th, 2008. Poured a very hazy orange with a lively, tight, white head that hangs around a while. Aroma of yeast, bready malt, coriander, white grapes, citrus, and green apple. Tart flavor of green apple, banana, white grapes, mixed with earthy floral hops and bready malt. Mouthfeel is light and lively thanks to the carbonation, leaves a bit of a wet finish on the tongue. Nice and refreshing.

Butters Big Blowout - Hazy golden pour with some floaters. Very bready with hints of citrus and malts. Taste the same with slight tartness and honey. Medium body. Solid Saison.
