Commercial Description:
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

Tap at Barcade: Slightly hazy light golden with a wispy white head. Nice dry fruity aroma- some dusty phenols, cherry pit brett notes, earthy leather hints- nice and rustic. Has a fluffy body with a dry flavor. Earthy and rustic character with some peppery notes that mesh with a very mild bubblegum note (though not at all sweet). There’s an herbal hop bitterness accompanied by residual bretty mild funk. It’s rare that a U.S. interpretation of this style is nice and dry. I like the brett character in this one. Well done!

750mL bottle. Poured orange body. Aroma is citrus, orange, and something else sweet. Taste is citrus and sort of tart, but really good.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Big spicy musky saison yeast, light wheat and citrus notes. Big citrus, with a hint of pineapple. Nice fine carbonation with a great mouthfeel. Musky yeast finish with a slow light bitterness.

Pale yellow pour with lots of carbonation and a thick fluffy white head. Musty yeast aroma with some sweet fruity notes. Bitter yeasty flavor with a bit of malt. Nice hoppy finish.

From a 22oz bomber into a snifter. Pours with a TON of white pillowy (but strangely thin head which, over about 3 mins, dissipates into a thin layer. Mild lacing which remains in splotches on the glass. Aroma is of lemon and funk. Tastes is of lemon and pepper and a good deal of funk. Alcohol taste is not present. Mouthfeel is nice and smooth, in a light sort of way, but there is too much carbonation which detracts from the taste. Overall, I like this beer a lot. It also is priced well ($3.65, which is especially important because it’s only sold in bombers, which in my opinion are notoriously over priced. Kudos to Victory for brewing this one and for cutting the price from the $7.50 they charged for V-Saison (the predecessor to this beer). I think this will be my go to saison for the summer.

Pours a clear gold with a booming white head on the first pour, gets a little smattering of small particulates in the second pour. Peppery, slightly grassy aroma. Perhaps a touch of brett (not funky though). Crisp malt in the flavor backed by a balanced lingering mild bitterness. Tasty beer. Easy drinking, but not exactly exciting.

Clear golden pour with a fluffy head and nice carbonation streamers running up from the bottom of the glass. Aroma is spicey and peppery. Flavor is spicy, with black pepper, yeasty with a bit of musty funk. Finish is crisp with lingering pepper. Not a huge fan of this one as there is little depth. It is, however, a crisp, refreshing brew.

On tap. Grape and yeast aroma. Hazy golden color with a medium white head. Sweet tangy beginning with a moderate bitter finish.
