Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

(bottle). Clear light orange color. Medium off-white head, which was frothy and mostly diminishing. Strong hop and alcohol aroma. Decent hop flavor, although it seemed a bit off. Avg duration. Finish has a very light astringency and bitterness. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Spare lacing.

Clear gold color. Quite hoppy aroma. Almost sour hops; there are so much! Hoppy taste continues through the finish. Soured and aged hops upfront. Too much.

Poured bottle in a long stem glass, probably bad from the start. Golden in color with a light quickly vanishing white head. Good hop flavor but not as full or bitter as I expected.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours cloudy dark orange with a fully gone white head. Aroma is mild grapefruity and of orange hops notes. Dry, mild spiced and citrus fruity hops flavours. Dry hoppy, light malt base and very bitter flavoured into a lasting dry far finish. I would have liked a bit more body from the malt to give a better smoothness and balance to the hops.

Pretty tasty, with a nice bouquet of floral hops, and a nice bitter hop kick to boot. Malt backbone is strong with a slight hint of caramel in it. Overall pretty decent, alcohol hidden well. Never had this brewery before, but I look forward to trying their other stuff.

Pours golden with no head. Aroma of spicy hops & fruit. Taste is chewy hops, light citrus leading to a dry bitter end. When you get to the end of your glass the bitterness really catches up to you.
