Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

Pours a nice golden color with off white head, very nice lacing on this one. Aroma of pine hops, fruit (pineapple?). Thick sweet taste up front gives way to the hop bomb finish. Very good, has potential to be great. Will continue to seek this one out.

Bottle shared with scottyp at woody’s. Clear golden pour with spotty lacing and thin off white head. Nose of pineapple, pepper, and citrus hop. Flavor of sweet floral citrus hops with some honey and a lingering bitter finish that is not overbearing. Cool name.

An orange copper slightly hazy beer with an off-white head that doesn’t last too long. Aroma is a vague hoppiness, but nothing stands out. Maybe floral and citrus if I had to say. Flavor is also hops with some caramel malt, finishes bitter.

Clear light gold pour with minimal head but nice lacing. Aroma is strangely butterscotch, caramel and then some earthy hops. After warming, some alcohol eludes. Flavor is bitter with a balanced sweetness but it doesn’t seem to work great but good enough. Mouth feel is metallic and astringent but has good carbonation and body. Aftertaste is a lingering metallic bitter. An alright brew that was so-so.

hazy golden pour. slight head. resiny hops in the nose and a bit of pine. sweet resinous hops in the flavor followed by a bit of biscuity malt. nice sweetness, and it hides the alcohol well

Bottle from Beers of Europe. No compromise grapefruity hop aroma. Grapefruit, grassy, vividly fresh hoppy flavours. Bitter as can be, but complex herbal, even honeyish as well. To be prescribed to all hop addicts out there.

Ever so slightly hazy on this relatively pale copper colored DIPA. A dense white head and sticky lacing counter out its otherwise boring appearance. The aroma is balanced between resiny pine hops, sugary malts and tart citrus. The flavor is also fairly well balanced from sweet sugar cookie upfront into citrus and pine on the backside. Medium bodied, almost oily mouthfeel.
