Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

A very enjoyable Imperial or Double IPA. Has a nice, fluffy white head that sticks to the glass when drinking. The citrus aroma, much like the Hop Devil, draws your attention at first and then the accompanying taste and bite brings you back for more. LC

Bottle. A bright golden orange color pour with a big creamy white head, medium carbonation. Aroma is on the light side for a IIPA a bit sweet and piny. Flavor is somewhat bitter, pine, resin ,and some cirtus hop flavors,a nice caramel malt backbone, quite tasty. A slightly sweet ,slightly bitter finish, a good drinker, the alcohol content was well hidden. A good brew and a fun try.

This beer pours a dark golden yellow with a fluffy white head. It resembles an albino with jaundice. However, it smells much better than one of those pale skin pricks. Aroma is of pine. Smells like a god damn forest jizzed in my beer. tastes is perfect. alcohol is well hidden, but still warms the cheeks a little, carbonation is perfect, nice and bubbly and light, which makes this a high abv beer that is extremely drinkable. It is loaded with hops, but isnt too bitter, its well balanced, you still get that bitterness from the hops, but the subtitles of the citrus and pine are very visible.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful orange with a thin white head. Great lacing. Aroma is sweet hops and sweet malt. Notes of grapefruit, bread, caramel, grass, pine, orange, and other citrus fruits come out. The flavor is strong of hopsadswet malts. Thhe finish is crisp and bittter, exactly like one would expectfrom an IPA. For a douple IPA, this beer was a slight let down, but I still eennjoyed it. It just seems like it may be classified wrong.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine. Pours orange with a white head. The appearance is very inticing. The aroma, however, is very similar to a recent bottle I tried of Victory’s Hop Devil; a strange V-8 aroma. The hops are spicy in this one, not bitter at all. The hop flavor is better than the aroma which I did not experience in the Hop Devil. Not a bad DIPA but I prefer mine brutally bitter.

The aroma is pleasant with lots of citrus and pine hops as well as bread and caramel. The appearance is hazy gold with a small head. The flavor is a mess of astringent grassy hops with turpentine and grapefruit with some sweet malt but no balance. The palate is smooth. Overall a real hop bomb that does not impress.

Bottle from Real Ale Ltd, cheers Duff, consumed the same day as I received the package 29-04-09 Pours mid gold, a little hazy, with a white head that swiftly departed. This had a really streaky citrus, ’grapefruit’? theme running throughout but with a nice honey sweetness. Quite a thick beer in the mouth with a nice gentle fizzy hoppiness sending little bubble hop bombs around the whole mouth. The bitterness and sweetness continue to zip around the tongue and roof of mouth, its a very nice beer. A7 A3 F8 P4 Ov15 3.7
