Smell is a extremely deep hop smell. There is a slight malt smell in the background to level off just slightly, the hoppieness of this brew.
Taste is so full of hops it is almost blocking out the other flavors but there is also a slight pine taste. A hint of malt is in there with the wall of flavor.
Very tasty and a good beer overall. It will take an unexpected pallet to really get into the flavor. I am a big fan of hops and it was still a shock to the system.
Pick this beer up if you are ready to have your taste buds for a ride.

Citrus and grapefruit and hops are in there as well, but for me it’s the punch of pine against my tongue that brings me back to this beer. It’s not quite the same in the bottle in my opinion, but off the tap I find it sublime when I’m in the mood for a strong golden beer. Marsiblursi (1644), Göteborg, Sweden

The aroma is medium hoppy and near medium malty with tones of fruit candy, soft, sweet yellow fruits, apricots, passion fruit, flowers, citrus (sweet grapefruit and tangerines), toasted bread, toasted almonds, sponge cake and some cookies. The flavour is more citrus orientated with notes of oranges, tangerines and light twist of grapefruit. The malt backbone is toasted with some nuts and cookies. Undertones of fruits and perfume. The mouthfeel is round with a soft carbonation. Some alcohol is present. Light to medium sweet and medium biter. Medium to full afterbitterness. Resiny tart and earthy finish. Medium bodied. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep golden color with a small white head. Nice hoppy aroma with a slight hint of pine. Flavor starts slightly sweet then progresses into a grapefruit and pine punch. A lasting drying bitterness rounds it out. Nice and hoppy... this one is a winner. Coltrane (108), South Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Hop wallop indeed, Not a ton of floral or citrus notes, just a lot of bitter. Some might say too much, some would call those people wimps.
Delicious and very drinkable for a double, very little of the East Coast sweetness that plagues so many DIPAs.
Also, fantastic for the price, espeically in PA where its usually under 40 a case. Wellestone (17), Andover, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Bottle. Pours golden with relatively light carbonation and a medium foamy off-white head. The aroma is really great with spicy fresh herb (dill) with some citrus in the background. Some lace as it goes. The mouthfeel is slightly creamy with a medium body, a bit spritzy; this would be good on a hot day. Not as malty as I expected it would be. Flavor is predominantly floral and slightly sour near the end. The bitters really hit you on the end and linger long after each sip. Excellent excellent beer. Jonte (821), Gothenburg, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Bottle. Dark golden colour with a white head. Aroma: tropical fruits, hops, citrus, orange-peel, pine, nectarins, cream, sweet lightly toasted malt. Taste: Sweet at first, then a big bitterness hits the palate. Notes of tropical fruits, sweet citrus, grape, pine, soap, a bit of alcohol. Bov (5451), Bienne, Switzerland
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 8, 2009 from crackedkettle.com - hazy bronze-orange colour with a persistent and slightly beige foam; very hoppy and flowery aroma showing notes of apricots, fresh cream and grapefruit; good malt body, slightly oily and robustly bitter, quite dry and long bitter fruity finish; the hop notes stay for a long time in the mouth - a hop bomb which is never aggressive
