Pours a dark copper-amber color with big frothy white head that it does not let go of. Nose is mostly pine hops with noticeable malt and citrus. Flavor is lots of sugary caramel, sweet malt, and a balanced hop... well... wallop that follows along. Finish lingers sweet and bitter. Very good double IPA. drjay44 (801), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 11, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours an initially exhuberant white head, which rapidly deflates, attractive lacing, over a clear orangy golden body...nose of hop, primarily grapefruit, some pine, no real malt.....tastes initially of mild malt and then in come the fruity hop, light bitter finish which lingers but not overly long. Mouth feel is thick and chewy. Definately "East Coast" with the restrained hop, but a very nice ale. nickd717 (1374), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 10, 2009 I really didn’t expect the hop wallop I got from this one (who would?). Great IIPA in the east coast style. Golden-amber color with an off-white head. Huge hops on the aroma and flavor, balanced by sweet malts. Only average-bodied but balanced. Well done overall - I’d call it a "victory" for this brewery. dagimp (132), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2009 On tap at Earth Bread and Brewery. Pours a mid to dark golden color. Smell is totally of hops as is the taste. Hops are biting as the name of the beer suggests. Alcohol flavor is minimal and does not affect drinkability. If you’re a serious hophead, this one’s for you. An excellent quality beer all around, but the hop flavor was a tad too biting for me. I would definitely drink again though. Allen (1400), Switzerland

It pours a beautiful deep golden beer with an average sized bubbly head. Not much lacework. Aroma: Fantastic and extremely inviting. Hop resin, basil, huge amounts of lemon, pine needles, strawberries, grapefruit and cream. Wonderfully fresh and pleasant. Flavor and palate: Sweet. Good bitterness. Very smooth. A lot of lemon, hop resin, gooseberries, elderflower, cream, sage, strawberries and grapefruit showing up. The alcohol is very well hidden. Dry bitter finish reminiscent of earthy hops, lemon, sage and grapefruit. Overall impression: A nice surprise. Deeply pleasant and interesting. Excellent. I love the strawberry characteristic of this beer. Thanks a lot DuffMan! A fantastic Imperial IPA with a lot of character- sublime; one of the best ones I have had so far. koatis (49), Maryland, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2009 A- Pours a clear light orange hue, frothy white head that dissipates to a thin layer, sticky lacing
S- Dominant pine resin, filled out with earth and grass tones, hints of sweet citrus and toasty malts
T- A unique blend of bitter pine resin hops and toasty bread malts, the malt presence is surprising for this genre but not unpleasant, citrus flavors, finishes very bitter and dry
M- Medium-bodied, oily texture coats the mouth, mild carbonation
D- Smooth DIPA with a surprising amount of malts, it is always an experience to taste East Coast hop beers and I try to rate them separate from West Coast beers, overall this stands up as an interesting malty DIPA with good flavor and balance AGAquino (91), San Juan, Puerto Rico
