Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

Bonus from adrian910ss. Pours orange copper color with a head that dissipates immediately. Nose is pineapple and a bit malty. Flavor is more malty than most IIPA’s I’ve had, but there is quite a bit of bitter hops. Lively mouthfeel and a crisp, clean finish.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange gold with some particle floating about. Head is a nice snow white, tight little bubbles. Nose is dominated by a flowery hop sent with citrus and malts filling in the details in the background. Attack is a deeply bitter hop from the tip of your tongue to the rough of your mouth. mouth feels is light and airy (very nice). Finish is prolonged with transitions from a hopy bitterness to a smooth malt sweetness. great beer.

Pours a orangish yellow color with a small white head. Aroma of piney hopes. Taste is very thick also tasting like piney hops but with not much malt to back it up, very bitter.

This beer lives up to its name. Pours a cloudy copper hue with a thick white head. Aroma and flavor are both overwhelmingly of hops. Very dry finish. The strongly hopped IPA’s are not generally my favorite style of beer, but this one is very well done.

Pours a bit more hazing than I would expect but a nice orange copper with a small white head that leaves a small ring at the top of the glass. Strong, but pleasant, hops hits your nose with the pour. Some citrus, maybe grapefruit, tones come from the aroma too. Nice bitter hops comes through as it hits your mouth upon tasting. Some floral hints and the citrus comes through too. Finishes in a nice bitter manner-dry and smooth and wanting more on your tongue. Nicely balanced for a double IPA and not too overpowering really. I’d have another one of these for sure, but I think that I’d only be able to have two or so in a session because of the ABV and also the effect of the hops on my tongue!

12 fl oz. Tasted in comparisson with other double IPAs. Golden clear colour with nice, fine white head. Aroma of malt, vanilla, notes of pine, and fruit from the hops. Flavour of malt and hops. Very bitter indeed. Personally, I prefer some notes of caremal, but not a bad beer at all. Overall, it smells like a strong and powerful lager.

The color of new motor oil with a medium slightly yellow head. Aroma of HOPS with pine. Flavor is, indeed, a hop wallop. It is big, bold, and brash. It is a "Larry Flint" kind of beer. To some it is a sensual delight but to others is offensive and over the top. Taste includes grapefruit, and caramel. Bitterness is significant and a hoppy zing remains on the tongue for quite some time. Feel is oily resin. Alcohol is barely noticeable. Nice effort by Victory.

Pours an orange amber with an average white head. Piney hops on the nose with a strong presence of malts as well, and not quite what I expected. The flavor is a bit like trying to drink a pine tree. Really hoppy, but not necessarily good. Very bitter finish. It has a nice bubbly feel to it, but overall this beer just kind of falls short, and is not very memorable at all.
