Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

The color of new motor oil with a medium slightly yellow head. Aroma of HOPS with pine. Flavor is, indeed, a hop wallop. It is big, bold, and brash. It is a "Larry Flint" kind of beer. To some it is a sensual delight but to others is offensive and over the top. Taste includes grapefruit, and caramel. Bitterness is significant and a hoppy zing remains on the tongue for quite some time. Feel is oily resin. Alcohol is barely noticeable. Nice effort by Victory.

Pours an orange amber with an average white head. Piney hops on the nose with a strong presence of malts as well, and not quite what I expected. The flavor is a bit like trying to drink a pine tree. Really hoppy, but not necessarily good. Very bitter finish. It has a nice bubbly feel to it, but overall this beer just kind of falls short, and is not very memorable at all.

Floral aroma. Flavor is as hoppy as you’ll get out, piney. Leaves a bitterness on the tongue long after you’ve swallowed. Not an acidic burn through the tongue, but I would find it hard to bear over two of these. For 8.5%, it has some kick. Overall a decent DIPA.

Not as viscous as I anticipated. Poured a hazy golden hue, with a pretty decently thick, soapy head. Nose is grapefruits, very floral. Tastes of strong citrus, only slight pine...hops are not as up front as I would have thought. Alcohol is obvious, but not overpowering. I’d hit it again.

Amber orange in color with a pretty good head. Hazy. Citrus and floral in the aroma. Taste is pleasingly bitter with some flowers and fruits in there as well.

Amber color with a pretty white head. Smells like piney hops. The first thing that hit me was citrus on the front of the tongue. Theres a great hop taste to this with a bitter but enjoyable finish.

Delicious caramelly hop aroma. Quarter inch, creamy off-white head on top of a nice light golden pour. Nice crisp taste. Fizzy but creamy at the same time! Great sweet flavor initially, with a pretty powerful hop finish that comes on the longer you let it sit. Quite bitter but not overpowering.
