Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

Pours a hazy orange. aroma of hops very apparent. The alcohol is well hidden, Loads of hop flavor but not overwhelming like some beers. It works well and I would buy again

Bottle thanks to Ty5592. Poured a light copper color with a moderate off-white head that left decent lacing. Aroma of spicy citrus and a bit of green pine. Light caramel and pine entry with light bitterness leads into a fruity, citric hop hit that dries the palate nicely. Nice grapefruit character, good feel on the palate. I don’t know if I would say that it is a double IPA, but it is a nice tasting beer. Thanks Ty, you are the man.

12 oz bottle. Poured golden copper in color with a large white sticky head. Nice lacing left on the glass. Aroma is of piney and floral hops as well as sweet grapefruit. Taste is of grapefruit, citrus hops, pine, and hints of caramel malts. The taste is fairly sweet but it has a nice solid hop performance. Very nice victory selection.

Seems to be a IIPA kind of night, so I thought I would crack this one, courtesy of eaglefan538. Pours out a golden orange hued body with tons of sediment floating around. Not used to seeing that in a IIPA. One finger head quickly dissipates, leaving only a smattering of foamy bubbles atop the beer. Decent coat lacing. Nose of citrus and floral hops, citrus fruit juices, caramel malts, some medicinal qualities and some piney notes. Fore is at first very astringent, but once that dies away a nice juicy fruitiness is left, oranges, lemons, grapefruits all show here, along with an ever present pine note from the hops and some sweetness from the malts. Mid palate and beyond brings an unpleasant crushed aspirin vibe to the whole thing. Finish is very lengthy, but continues with the medicinal barrage, really covering up anything else that might be present. Medium bodied, very slick palate, true to style. Not a bad beer by any means, but pales in comparison to the super elite of the style (Hopslam, Ruination, YuleSmith, 90 Minute, etc.).

Pours a lite golden with a frothy head. Aromas of pines, and tons of grarpefruit. An amazing hop flavor with all the hop flavors one could look for. Very little malt except for the lite munich. Clean fermentation. The bitterness is good but I would describe it as more of a driness than anything else. Very piney and somewhat lush but a little too dry.

bottle. pours golden rod. smells hoppy with all the normal aromas of a IIPA. taste was bitter and dry. first few sips were nice - trying to sort out the different tastes. as the pint continued it dried out the palate and made me thirsty - very clever guys! could have done with a little less dryness but overall not a bad brew.
