Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

Bottle courtesy Ty5592 - Thanks! Medium gold pour with a thin white head. Aroma is all hops...mostly grassy/piney hops with some slight citrus hops behind the main show, and it is very pleasant to savor. Flavor is all hops...the majority of which is very grassy. Not a lot of malt to back up the hops, but for a ’hop bomb’ this ain’t all bad. Bitterness really kicks in after the sip is over, but its enough to keep you coming back. For as little malt flavor as this has to offer, I’m trying to figure out where the 8.5% is coming from, but the alcohol is very well hidden. Not a bad drink, though it drinks like a regular IPA vs an IIPA

Pours a light golden color with a thin white head. Very light aroma, not heavy on the hops at all. The hops are incredibly bitter and it even seems to have an oily aftertaste. Has a pine flavor to the beer. Decent beer, but not anything amazing. Hides the 8.5% alcohol very well though.

Golden pour, creamy white head, good lacing, light piney aroma, light texture for imperial ipa, bitter hoppy particularly aftertaste, not a typical imperial ipa, more like a strong hoppy ipa, therefore a bit light, fairly crisp, a little bit of a disappointment but did not expect all that much, like the hopdevil better.

Nice dense head. As advertised, it is a hoppy beer but not without a strong malty presence to balance things out. Not as hoppy--and unfortunately not as good--as IPAs from breweries such as Stone or AleSmith, the beer is a solid offering nonethelss. Alcohol is hidden nicely.

12 oz bottle. This pours a perfect body - a thick, cloudy orange. The aroma is maybe some grapefruit and hops. The taste is the same only not as much citrus as hops. I enjoyed this way more than HopDevil. Sort of reminded me of DFH 90 minute.

Very good. Strong citrus and grapefruit hop flavor. Unlike the hop devil, this one has a much stronger malt presence. Slight bitterness in the finish, but overall not very bitter. Smooth, lightly carbonated, and no alcohol taste.

This beer is no joke, there is a ton of hops. It had a dark yellow/golden body with foamy white head. The 8.5% ABV was covered up every well.
