Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

Amber orange, small off-white head, some lacing. Grassy, very sweet hops. Body a bit unexpectedly malty upfront with citrusy hops finishing it off with a nice bitter bite. Some lingering bitterness and a medium body.

12 oz. bottle - Poured golden orange with nice size head and great lacing on glass. The hop aroma is intense yet very fresh along with citrus scent. Taste is excellent, bitter on the tongue and leaves you with a resin hop aftertaste. It also warms your belly due to higher ABV. This has to be my favorite Victory beer to date.

From a bottle pours hazy orange color with a good amount of head. Nice strong hoppy flavor with a good finish.

Cloudy amber/orange with nice off-white head that lasts and laces slightly. Distinctly citrus hop nose; ruby red grapefruit and orange predominant, lingering sweetness. Malt backbone to the taste; sweet and biscuity. Taste is less citrus, more floral, and quite spicy - a character absent in the nose. Finish is moderately bitter and lasts significantly at the back of the palate. Soft carbonation, good mouthfeel. Quite nice for what it is.

a very nice ipa. The hop flavor isn’t as pungent as I expected from the name, but it does have a very good blend of hops. There are very nice floral and citrus notes, but overall it is a fairly light ale. Good overall.

Golden color with a generous white head. Grapefruit and strong hop aroma. Flavor starts out the same then reveals a nice malt sweetness. Bitter finish leaves a nice lasting impression.

golden pour with a nice layer of white head. wow, that’s quite a bit of hops on the nose with lots of fruit as well. great thickness with a very fresh hop taste.
