Honey and lemon grass flavor with a peppery finish. Medium bodied belly warmer. Pretty nicely done, with the flavor of noble hops.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Clear orange/red w/ a thin head that recedes into lasting scum on top. Citrus, pine and bread. A load of malt, but citrus and bread crust predominate, medium body, thin palate. Hoppy and nicely made, i.e., quaffable. potbeercollege (369), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Poured into a pint glass. Hazy, yellow-gold appearance with a small, yet thick, white head. Swirl your glass to watch the beer come to life. The aroma is distinctly hoppy with a delicate sweetness. The taste is intentionally not-so-balanced with tons of hop bitterness and spice, finishing off with a big bitter bite. Medium bodied with medium lace, this brew goes down smooth with little hint to the booze it’s hiding. pressboxjoe (73), , New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Bottle from the brewery. The bright, Budlike color is fun compared to the hophead-pleasing aromas and flavors. If I knew more about evergreen scents I’d try to get more detailed than "piney" with this one. It smells sweet, medicinal, even minty. Flavor is just a little abortive - I like a beer that washes over my whole mouth, but this one misses spots, namely the middle of my tongue. Bitterness is plentiful but well balanced. Flavor utterly destroyed by Indian food - so don’t have them together. WLG423 (64), Connecticut, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Aroma is super hoppy with many citrus and floral notes and earthy undertones. A nice dark orange color with a short lived slightly tan head. Flavor is comfortably bitter with notes of grain. The body is medium light with a smooth mouthful. Finish is long lasting with the hop character persevering. craftycarl21 (558), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Pours a hazy peach with a very small white head. Aroma holds lots of nectarine, peach, clementine, evergreen, and a touch of floral hops as well. Flavor is rife with floral, pine, citrus, and a touch of earthy hop as well. Some rosemary and tarragon sneaks in as well. Not much malt character, but this is a good double IPA. Palate isn’t all that impressive, but doesn’t detract from the beer; a sessionable brew overall. Another solid effort from Victory. oteyj (766), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Hazy peach pour with some hop residuals and yeast. A thin white head leaves a light ring. Aroma holds a juicy citrus pine and mandarin orange with slight resin and caramel malt. Flavor is bursting with nectar juices and citrus with a strong backbone of spruce and toasty sweet malt. Palate is medium bodied with low effervescence and a dryish resinous finish. Very sessionable for the style- gotta be careful with these. Bullit (1374), Glasgow, Scotland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Bottle from Food World, Kalamazoo. Amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of sweet hops and some malts. Flavour has sweet hops, sweet caramel malts. Slightly dry and bitter finish. Well drinkable, but on the sweet side. b33pb00p (4), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 22, 2009 This is my first review, and the reason is because I tasted Victory Hop Wallop. I have been a fan of Hop Devil for a long time, and friends told me that Wallop is similar, but stronger. I figured I would give it a go, and it was not a bad choice. Aroma is sensational, sweeter sweeter and mildly spicier than you would expect from an 8.5% beer. Wonderful darker color. Taste was exceptional, better than I could have imagined. Matched aroma nearly exactly. There was no charcoal aftertaste left on the palate as I sometimes get with Hop Devil. Easily may claim the spot as my favorite beer after I try some more.
