I can smell this one across the room and its rather tempting. Aroma is very strong fruity hops with some malt. Taste is so piny its actually spicy. This beer has some serious bitter kick. Some malt and fruit can be detected but its quickly overpowered by hoppiness. Rather tasty I must say, but certainly a "sometimes" beer for me. Has a very long lasting very bitter finish. Fairly light body and the carbonation seems a bit weak, which I will assume isn’t always the case. I will address that issue after another bottle of this and re-rate. mattmc1973 (305), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

Color is deep clear amber with small light tan head that dissipates to a ring around the glass. Aroma is of grapefruit and piney hops. Taste is spicy hops, citrus, with light sweet malt. Not as sweet and malty as, say, Founders Centennial, this one is stronger on hops and has more of a bit with less sweetness. Medium mouthfeel, dry, with crisp carbonation bite. Very nice IPA, ranks up there with some of the best I’ve had. hayduke (1659), Eureka, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 22, 2009 From a 12 oz bottle this poured a very clear and rich amber with a light tan head and very gluey lacing rings. The nose is powerful with citrus, floral, and pine hops. Very rich mouthfeel with a great slickness in the back of the throat. The flavor is quite bitter, but a very enjoyable bitterness. The finish is on the dry side and bitter as well. Overall this is in the top rank of American IPAs. broozer81 (64), , New Jersey, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Amber pour with a one finger head, minimal retention, no lacings. Aroma of pine and grass. Flavor is not as complex as I was expecting. Not much bitterness, not much sweetness, definite session beer, semi-dry finish. Decent.
