Taste is ten times more hop abundant that the aroma. Punch of bitter resinous hops. really quite enjoyable. mouse725 (74), Albany, New York, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2009 On tap, this beer poured a dark orange color with a nice 1 finger head. There was plenty of lacing. It had an aroma of hops, pine, citrus, and malts. I found that the taste matched the smell. The hops were not overpowering. They actually complemented the malts very nicely. The carbonation was very nice as well. This was a good beer but I felt that it was lacking something. I would seek it out again on tap as it is a great session beer. shawnm213 (985), South Bend, Indiana, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2009 12 oz. Bottle, has an amber-copper pour with off-white bubbles, lots of effervescence, bubbles keep flowing and flowing long after it was poured into the glass, left nice lacing on the glass, aromas of caramel, malt, some sweetness and hops, flavor of toasted malt, caramel, some light fruit, hop bitterness is there but not what I expected from an IPA, this ale finishes dry on the palate and some malt flavor hangs around after the finish,
I think the bottles of HopDevil I drank a couple of years ago had more hop character, I do not know if Victory has changed this ale or if my palate has changed but I enjoyed this drink much more in the past, more hop aroma and flavor would have given this drink a 4.0 or so in rating, maybe I got an off sample? Anyway, this was sort of disappointing, I will need to try again.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 25, 2009 Pours a nice amber copper color with a two finger off white head and tiny bubble lacing. Smells and tastes of pine and strong spicy citrus with some yeasty bread. There is some definite malt but not enough to override the awesome hops! Love this beer! | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Reddy-copper ale with a lovely puffy off-white crest.
Prickly pine hops it hints of celery.
Rich and fatty. Loads of green pine hops whose dryness moves from the tip of the tongue all the way down the gullet. Hints of nettles here.
Wonderful little carbonation.
It is very drinkable but trough that lacks real depth. It as some nice fresh coriander flavours but with little to back that up.
