| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 30, 2008 (Sample from April 20, 2007 Beer Club Meeting; 12oz bottle with weeAnaP on August 24, 2008, post-salad, pre-pork!) Amber-caramel color with a head that fizzled away quickly… steady carbonation from the bottom edges of the glass. Looks clean and clear, but syrupy. Aroma is sweet and hoppy - you can tell there’s a bit of caramel in this IPA. Lips tingle as it enters the mouth. Very smooth... light hop flavor. And yes, you can taste the malts. I do like how it tastes darker than most IPAs. Alot. Tongue still tingles. Clean finish. Has a slight sinal excitement. Lovely! mistersinalin (378), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 28, 2008 A definate superior to Hop Whollop by the same brewery. I have to say that this is one of the more biter IPAs out there. I enjoy this with some chili. RunDWP (203), San Jose, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 27, 2008 Updated: Sep 9, 2008Re-rating, since the first botle I drank from might have been old. From a fresher bottle, there was a lot more grapefruity and slightly caramel aroma. Flavor had a good complexity, with roasted malt, resin and grapefruity hop flavors. Solid head and lots of sheeting and lacing on the glass. Ranks aong the best IPA’s I’ve had. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 25, 2008 12 ozer poured into an imperial pint glass. Poured a slightly hazy amber color with a one finger white head that disappeared quickly into a lot of lacing. Aroma is of citrus hops and a light hint of malt. Flavor is a well balanced floral hop taste, with a some lingering citrus. Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. I think this was a very good beer. Not so hoppy that you taste it for days, and not so bland that it leaves you wanting more. mesperon (140), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 22, 2008 Pours out a hazy amber with a disappearing head. The aroma is a faint citrussy hop with raspberry undertones. The mouthfeel is watery, and the flavor was a mellow floral and citrus hop with a lingering mild piney bitterness. The flavor was nice and the bitterness was pleasant, but overall disappointing intensity considering the name. Above average. BigDaddyBlues (39), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 21, 2008 I tried this several times before I decided to rate. Great aroma and color. Good hop taste and bitterness but the malt came out a little more at the end than I want in an IPA.
