| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2008 I had high hopes for this particular IPA. I found the flavor to be much maltier than anticipated. With a name like HopDevil, I felt a little left down. Aside from that, the hops that are there help balance out the malty sweetness. It is still very drinkable, though I will not be picking up another sixer any time soon. TEJA (290), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 29, 2008 Pours a copper color with a nice head. Very carbonated from the bottle. A decent aroma with some hopps, but not enough for me. A sour like grapefruit finish with a strong bitter dry taste. smetrick (18), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jul 26, 2008 on hanp pump at Standard Tap 16 oz pint glass. I have had hop devil in the bottle and on CO2. It is a different beer on the hand pump. Warmer and with less carbonation, the hops are mellow, the malt is sweet and the drink is unforgettable. Signature IPA from one of the Philly area’s great craft brewers. fredandboboflo (1417), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Cask at Blind Tiger. A bit odd that my first rating of this is from cask (especially since it was crazy), but here it is. Aroma of red grapes on a vine, lots of caramel malt, some earthy fruits, citrus and pine hops almost in the background with all this craziness going on. Flavor starts off nice and bitter at the front of the mouth with sweet malt taking over elsewhere. Nice grapefruit finish, and a pleasant bitter aftertaste. Turned into an unusually earthy version of an IPA, but thought it was quite nice. FlssmrBrewAlum (1173), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2008 12 oz bottle from Charleston’s (New Lenox, IL). Pours a very nice darker coppery hazed hue with a decent head that dissipates at a medium pace. Aromas are lighter than expected, but still consisting of sweet malts and hoppy citrusy bite. Initial is good, largely malt up front leading way to a nicely hopped bitter finish. Not balanced as well as I hoped in my opinion. I love this beer’s assertive malt profile (who wouldnt?), but I feel like the hops are drowned out a bit. Hops are largely grapefruit and floral. Finishes bitter and very nice. Good, but not as good as advertised. Still in the top echelon though. Fruitfly (59), , Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 23, 2008 Updated: Aug 7, 200835.5 cl bottle. Aroma has many dimensions and is very rich with grapefruit and floral hops. The malt follows rapidly with heavy carmel, pine, and a slight earthiness. The unique color is an orangish, redish, amber; thick but transparent. Medium to small bead. Medium body and bitterness, oily and creamy. Noticably lacking in flavor range. Bitter and long finish. I would recommend it to fellow hop fans. Russo (595), Campinas, Brazil
