Aroma is both sweet and spicy with nice hops. Taste is hoppy but especially malty compared to some other IPA’s. Hops come through in the finish and have a nice little bite. Pleasant drinking beer. greydog (2), New Jersey, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 13, 2008 Fine brew w/ good hoppiness. Doesn’t deserve to be too cold when drinking. I get some roasted chestnut from it with a bite at the finish. Finished half a case at the lake last weekend by the open fire. afireinside96 (835), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA

Nice spicy, floral hop flavor that isn’t too over the top. Pretty good. jezmez68 (332), Chesterton, Indiana, USA

I didn’t realize that the HopWallop was actually the stronger of the two. Pours an orangeish red/brown. Nice smell of hops, a good bitter tongue bite. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA

Pours deep amber with a modest off-white head, nice amount of foamy lacings. Taste is lots of citrus hops with plenty of rich malt flavor. Good dry bitter finish. A good amount of grapefruit flavor. Very good beer. LilBeerDoctor (1502), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2008 On cask at Blind Tiger. Pours a cloudy brown with a bubbly white head. Aroma is very fruity with citrus hops lingering in the background. Also smells like red grape juice. Flavor is less fruity initially as the aroma with more hop bitterness. A very odd IPA- I got roasted malts, soda, apples, raisin, and alcohol. I’ve never had this beer before, but it seems that it’s quite different on cask. Interesting and not really at all like an IPA. Nose is sweet malt and mild hops. Taste is caramel malt upfront with a mild bitter hop finish – not citrus or pine – just bitter. Smooth, medium mouth feel. Decent, drinkable IPA. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Pours sort of amber with a long lasting head. Smells and tastes of hops, but definitely not too strong, as some other IPAs. I would definitely recommend this beer to any hop lover.
