Jul 19, 2008 Sampled from a friend on draft at Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore. The beer was a clear amber-orange color with a white head that had good retention and an average size. It had a rich hoppy and grainy aroma, with some citrus orange and spicy tones. The taste was slightly sweet, yet most a bitter hop flavor with an orange character detectable. The beer was spicy and full on the palate, slightly wet at first, but with a dry finish and average carbonation.

Jul 19, 2008 What a great IPA. I’m not sure about how devilish it is but it hs a really nice aroma, some sort of orange in the nose. Could be a bit of orange peel or coriander? It has to have some C hops in it, tastes a bit citrusy. I get this beer over and over again at the store, highly recommend it. Victory has some poor offerings for some of their other brews but this one is a really good choice.

Jul 18, 2008 Deep hazy amber, almost brown. Big spicy orange aroma, sweet caramel. The hops take center stage, even though there is some decent sweet malt here. Citrus and resin, the spice doesn’t really translate into the palate. Long bitter finish. Delicious.

Jul 16, 2008 A really nice IPA available in a six pack......which is hard to find. Nice amber color, nose is is not overpowering, but not subtle in the least. Mild(for an IPA) hops with a kick of spice on the finish. Perfect party beer for the craft lover.

Jul 15, 2008 Bottle. Clear amber pour with a medium head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of floral hops, grapefruit and sweet malt. Similar flavor with a bitter hop finish.

Jul 15, 2008 High bitters. As suggested, the 90 IBUs is quite overwhelming.
Hoppy nose and initial flavor is pleasant.
But the bitters are one dimensional and doesn’t harmonize with the malts very well. Over all, it’s a good beer, but I disagree with the 98 ranking.

Jul 14, 2008 Darker for an IPA, pours a burnt orange with a small white head. Aroma is both sweet and spicy with nice hops. Taste is hoppy but especially malty compared to some other IPA’s. Hops come through in the finish and have a nice little bite. Pleasant drinking beer.

Jul 13, 2008 Fine brew w/ good hoppiness. Doesn’t deserve to be too cold when drinking. I get some roasted chestnut from it with a bite at the finish. Finished half a case at the lake last weekend by the open fire.
