Pours deep amber with a modest off-white head, nice amount of foamy lacings. Taste is lots of citrus hops with plenty of rich malt flavor. Good dry bitter finish. A good amount of grapefruit flavor. Very good beer. LilBeerDoctor (1530), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2008 On cask at Blind Tiger. Pours a cloudy brown with a bubbly white head. Aroma is very fruity with citrus hops lingering in the background. Also smells like red grape juice. Flavor is less fruity initially as the aroma with more hop bitterness. A very odd IPA- I got roasted malts, soda, apples, raisin, and alcohol. I’ve never had this beer before, but it seems that it’s quite different on cask. Interesting and not really at all like an IPA. Nose is sweet malt and mild hops. Taste is caramel malt upfront with a mild bitter hop finish – not citrus or pine – just bitter. Smooth, medium mouth feel. Decent, drinkable IPA. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Pours sort of amber with a long lasting head. Smells and tastes of hops, but definitely not too strong, as some other IPAs. I would definitely recommend this beer to any hop lover. johntreeter (122), Greenwood, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours an orange copper with a thin, but lasting off white head that left good lacing. Aroma of hops some caramel, but punch you in the nose hops. Taste is dominated by the hops, but not overly bitter on the tongue ( I love those late additions) and the firm malt backing gives a nice balance. Livly carb., big body, and dry mouthfeel. This is a hop heads delight, fine AIPA that I will enjoy again . Tripplebrew (498), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Pours a clear amber copper with thick cream-colored head. Aroma is hops and light sugary caramel. Flavor is piney hops and light malts. Almost like the hops were sauteed in caramel. Really good hop ale. Body is medium with definite carbonation. Good beer. bennylava (86), California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours deep amber color with white head, some lacing. Lots of bitterness, a little malt, and a nice dry finish. The hoppy flavors are mostly pine with a little citrus. Overall, very nice especially if you like your IPA’s to be more bitter than floral and aromatic.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Beautiful amber color with a nice white head, good lacing as well. Grapefruit and piney hops, with a decent malt base. Biscuity beginning, grapefruit starts coming through, then pine before leading to a bit of a grassy finish. High carbonation, full body. I like it, and would have it again.
