Oct 23, 2009 Bottled. Deep amber, foamy beige head. Mildly resinous nose with hints of metal and crystal malt along with little dryish toasted bread and nuts. Flavor is balanced towards caramelly toasted malts, with mild grapefruit and pine, surprisingly subdued. Nicely balancing grapefruit skin bitterness. Medium bodied, very soft and lush palate. Pleasant, but I can’t stop thinking what this’d taste like in Pennsylvania..

Oct 22, 2009 On tap. Pour is clear golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is big citrus hops with a nice pine hop kick as well. Malt backbone also present. Flavor is quite hoppy, but very well balanced with a caramel malt kick. Just a great straight-forward IPA.

Oct 20, 2009 Pours an amber color with a thick off-white head. Aroma of hops and caramel malt. Nice balance of hops bitterness and malt on the palat; very easy drinking. Not a hop bomb of an IPA, but very well balanced and drinkable.

Oct 19, 2009 On tap @ Victory. Pours a clear amber with an off white head. Big PacNW hop aroma of citrus, pine and resin. Flavor is bitter with just enough malt sweetness to balance it out. Medium body with mild carbonation and a syrupy mouth feel, long bitter finish. This is a great easy drinking IPA.

Oct 17, 2009 Dark amber in color, the aroma is malty and spicy. The flavor has a nice malt backbone that transforms into a spicy, hoppy finish. This is quite different than other ipa’s. The color is much darker than most, and the hop presence is more on the spice side than citrus or pine. Different, yet good.

Oct 15, 2009 Pours a nice amber color with a brown head. Hoppy bouquet with coppery-hops. Tastes very slightly hoppy with a metallica tinge. Weak palate but over all decent.

Oct 14, 2009 12 oz bottle. Nice hop aroma. Golden color with white head and lacing. Initially nice hop flavor but too bitter on the palate for me. Maybe I’m just not an IPA man because the aftertaste is what sucked for me.
So in summary, I would have to down a whole bottle in order to enjoy the initial flavors and only have the aftertaste effects once at the end.

Oct 9, 2009 Rich pale head. Great aroma, smells of hops. Strong taste full of delicious hops. Smooth finish with a mellow aftertaste that doesn’t linger too long but stays with just long enough. Another great beer from Victory.
