(Bottle) After being sorely disappointed by Victory’s Hop Wallop, I was slightly more impressed by this beer. The hops are very complex and very fruity. There are some unpleasant tones in the hops though too. It’s mixed. I have complaints too about the flavor. It’s not the bitterness that gets me...this beer is too sour. As an IPA goes, this is solidly mediocre in my opinion. You can’t just make a good IPA by adding a lot of hops...you have to craft the beer, balance it, and use high-quality ingredients and a good process. This beer seems very sloppily brewed. As a final note, however, this beer is redeemed slightly by a certain cleanness in its aftertaste that is lacking from some IPA’s. This does make it more pleasant to drink, offsetting the unpleasant sourness a bit.

Dec 30, 2009 Draft. Pours a copper toned body with an off white head. Hoppy body with pine, pinecombs, light honey, some floral fruit notes, sweet effervescent hop resins, some citrus notes. A dry subtle earth finish, and a light warming. Great session local ipa.

Dec 24, 2009 Bottle, pours a clear copper with thick white tan head, Aroma, strong floral with soft citrus background. Taste, mellow sweetness with floral accents maybe pine hops - weak. Good hops bitterness with dry mouth finish. For a hop devil i’m not getting it.

Appearance: Golden with red tint, white head and some lacing
Aroma; Pine, caramel, some citrus
Taste: Sweet malt with some pine hops
A good IPA. It seems to have to much malt character, but that may because it’s on tap across the country from where it was brewed and the hops have mellowed out.

Dec 16, 2009 An amber hop monster. Loads of citric hops: lemon, pine, orange and grape but the malts are present too - althoug weakly. Very bitter, and very potent!

Dec 15, 2009 12oz bottle. This is a great IPA. Very hoppy, very bitter and very, very tasty. The aroma is pleasant with hints of citrus and you can taste the citrus on the hops as well. Real well made and truly a balanced flavorful brew.

Dec 15, 2009 On Tap in Philly. Pours a deep amber color with little white head that disappears quickly and almost no lacing. I am not a IPA fan, but this one is pretty good. The taste is dominated by aromatic floral hops taste with a hint of hop bitterness. The taste is bold and this is the best IPA I have had, so I would have it again, but I wouldn’t seek this out.

Dec 13, 2009 Hazy orange color with a meium white head that disappears quickly and leaves little lacing.
Citrus nose with some banana and black pepper.
Immediate hops, but not overwhelming; nicely balanced.
Good body, more than most IPAs.
Decent brew, tasty enough to go back for more.
