Well, aroma is classic for the style, if not a little dusty on the nose, lovely citrus aromas and good florals, some rose like aroma, lemon peel, a subtle touch of grapefruit and some other background passion fruit-like notes all backed up with a delish caramel backbone aroma with elements of vanilla and also some good minerality. Beer looks handsome in the glass, nice dense big beige head with an amber body, slightly hazy. Flavour is surprisingley restrained for a US IPA. Hops taste familiar to a blend you might find in a UK brew. Really nice fruitiness with a great spicy punch, some almost peppery flavours, then in to resinous flavours, some eathiness, damp straw, more lemon rind, some bitter orange with great balance coming from the malts adding toffee, caramel and a fudg-like feel. Maybe some sultanas in there for good measure. Finish is good and bitter, bordering on acrid/perfumed some slight soapiness and then a burst of florals right at the end. The alate is fairly soft, still a bit sparkly, but overall a strong first beer from these guys. Don’t know about full-bodied, more mid at best, but it is lovely and easy going.

Citrus nose with some banana and black pepper.
Immediate hops, but not overwhelming; nicely balanced.
Good body, more than most IPAs.
Decent brew, tasty enough to go back for more. loveToHop (1), Pharr, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 13, 2009 had a great time drinking this IPA. the hops just bits back like an IPA should. The main things that stood out were the flavors of orange peel and the bitterness from the hops. A very enjoyable IPA. ksbeerkid (23), Emporia, Kansas, USA

Pours light amber color with little off white head that did not retain long. The Aroma is very soft, not much there maybe a little citrus. Then you take a drink and your hit with a spicy and bitter palate that is very delicious. Hops definitely abundant, and in a very good way. Glad to have this one Gmku (254), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 5, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice amber color with an off white head. Aromas of pine and citrus. Analogous flavors. Decent bitter edge, but not overwhelming. Medium bodied, actually has a pretty easy finish for an IPA. radioseer (57), Virginia, USA

Aroma is hoppy with orange and grapefruit notes. Hoppy floral citrus taste which is balanced with a carmel malt taste. Has a somewhat lively carbonation. Has a medium to full body. If you are a hophead this beer is worth a try.
