Commercial Description:
This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

12 oz bottle from a 6pack from EZ Liquors. Pours a solid brown orange with an average size foamy beige head that leaves less traces then a mafia money launderer. Aroma is all sweetness with notes of raisin, toffee, caramel, sugar, plastic modeling glue, vinous grapes. Palate is very full from the foaminess of the beer as it hits your mouth with a suprrisingly averge finish that is neither dry nor sweet. Add in some lively carbonation and this is one rather full bodied beer. Flavor starts off with some initial sweetness, raisin, dark fruit juice,..but then the wheat body kicks in with some grassy and wheaty notes finsihed off with uncooked brown bread, and some raw rum raisin bread dough. Average to slightly above but this isn’t knoicking down my doors like some other PA beers.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a rocky head. Lots of dry fruit aroma and nice spice character. I don’t find banana in here. A little sweeter than I like but very tasty.

12 oz. bottle, Pours a dark cloudy amber with a quickly fading head. Aroma is spicy with cloves. Taste has strong notes of caramel, citrus and dark fruits, wheat along with belgian brew spices and yeast. Pretty complex, VERY sweet, not much bitterness. Alcohol content very well hidden. Mouthfeel is full and round. Quality brew.

Pours redish amber with three fingers of head. Tons of aroma right off the bat. Lots of fruit: banana, apple, pear, and cherry. Definite yeast and a little alcohol as it warms. Soft palate. Flavor is fruity and sugar sweetness with a hint of spice. Alcohol is apparent as it warms, but is generally well hidden. This is a solid brew.

Cloudy orange/brown with large light tan, foamy head and a fine, spotted lace. Aroma of caramel, complimented by a light fruitiness, and with a hint of cloves. Medium body, lively carbonation, smooth with a rich velvety palate. Thick malty sweetness up front, but balanced well with some mild acidity, and a bit of tanginess. The finish is softly sweet, with a subdued hop bitterness. Pretty nice weizenbock, drinkable, and satisfying.

Sweet malty aroma with some yeasty wheat. Typical looking dark wheat, warm malty sweetness on the tongue. Finishes with cotton candy and a foamy smooth palate.

Poured a very lightly hazy copper color with a light tan head. There was a good amount of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. The beer looked very nice in the glass after the pour. The head went down fairly soon, but did leave a bit of lacing. The aroma was good with scents of caramel and spices. The initial taste was tart and crisp with lots of carbonation. It was slightly dry with a crisp tart flavor of apples, then rolled into a mild sweetness under the crispness and ended with a very mild bite and the sense of fall spices. Enjoyable beer.

Had to smuggle this back from NC after realizing it was not going to make it to GA this year. A little more of a clear brown color. Aromas and flavors dominated by some caramel sweetness, purple fruit like plum, and a faint bitter finish. Decent body and developed malt profile. Really enjoyed this one.
