| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 19, 2008 bottle from OSLO. Pours light brown with an off white head and plenty of particles floating around. Standard weizenbock aromas of banana, clove, light bubblegum, a hint of alcohol, cinnamon, tart wheat and apple skin. As this warms, a slightly musty note appears which seems a little off. The yeast pour produces a unique sharpness to the nose. The taste is very good with banana, vanilla, a spike of tart wheat right before the finish which settles to an excellent caramel or toffee flavor at the end which lingers nicely. The carbonation was crisp, and the mouthfeel was medium. A solid weizenbock indeed. Thanks Al! branspra (241), Arlington, Virginia, USA

Aromas of citrus, grapefruit, and a bit of clove. Lively texture with a creamy start, slick finish. Taste of bananas, roasted malts, and a bit of grapefruit. Complex beer and very good. ratman197 (3273), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Darker reddish brown on the top of the glass, moving to a softer orange amber on the bottom, never seen that before. Significant chunk in the glass and the head falls from three fingers to a thick sticky ring. Mildewy cardboard kind of dampens the dark wheat notes and i cannot pick up anything else. This dunkel has a punch and lacks clove or banana notes and is therefore simple which allows for the alcohol heat to finish uncontested. riversideAK (2806), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Aroma of banana, clove, and some dark wheat malt and dark fruits. Pours a murky orange with some yeast sediment and no real head to speak of. Has flavors of strong banana and clove followed by wheat malt. Some other aspects of the beers were some tart citrus, dark fruits, chocolate, and apple. Bubbly carbonation and a tart mouth feel. Sweet and fruity. dkachur (2437), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Pours a hazy dark copper color with lots of large floaties. 2-finger head shows nice retention and ok lacing. Big yeasty banana clove aroma. Taste is strong clove and other spice, yeast, wheat and banana. Medium bodied. Bristly feel with very vigorous carbonation. OSLO (829), Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 21, 2008 [Bottle] Pours reddish amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is very nice banana, a little wheat, cloves and a touch of cinnamon--typical weizen bock, but done very well. Taste is initially quite sweet, then just the wheat and banana. Medium-thin mouthfeel with a decent finish. I love a good weizen bock, and that is what this was; good, but not quite great. tarheels86 (819), Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Pours a hazy bright orange with some yeast sediment. Awesome style -a wheat bock. Aroma and intial taste is like a great wheat beer like Franziskaner with lots of bananas and yeast and some additional spices of cloves like a witbier. But the end is more intense like a dobbelbock- sort of smokey and more full-bodied. Alcohol is completely hidden- I cannot believe this is 8.7 abv. Excellent save for the aftertaste, which is sometimes cardboard and sometimes battery acid. Very odd.
