I’ve never had a beer that made me reconsider my entire view of beer. This one is a worldbeater. If this beer was a naval warship this would be a battleship with 15 inch guns (if size of gun was proportional to amazing depth of taste) with at least two feet of steel armor (if armor was equal to wide array of aromatic delights) and at the helm was a brazen pirate captain (standing for spicy sweetness that clouds the alcohol...and has an eye patch). Overall a fantastic beer with the best description ever, sometimes i read it to kids around a campfire. grandet (481), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 22, 2007 Citrus aroma with alcohol well hidden. taste of fruit. I think it might have been bad because of alot of yeast in the bottle. will probably try again JFURYCAT (791), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 17, 2007 Aroma of sweet citrus. The flavor has a wierd acidity to it that I didn’t expect in a Weizen Bock but this seems like a very pleasant beer with well hidden alcohol, some spicy malts, sweet fruits, and good carbonation. What isn’t pleasant is some rather yeasty bitter tones which tell me to avoid getting a case of this. obguthr (1032), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | May 13, 2007 Cloudy copper color, no head, floating sediments. Complex aroma of molasses, fruit and berries, maybe plum or prune, some yeast. Yeast and fermented berry flavor. Rather gross prune baby food aftertaste. Full of flavor, but not desirable.
This was my third of the most highly rated wheat beers I tried in one sitting. I wasn’t pleased with any of them. So much for what the so-called experts say. I prefer the lower rated, lesser known, wheat beers. I can brew a better beer in my kitchen. keepersj12 (800), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 30, 2007 Another good one from Victory. Very dark in color. Nice aroma of ripe fruit maybe raisins or plums? Sweet taste of spices and fruit. No hint of the alcohol until it warms a bit. Everything Victory puts out is worth a try. This is no exception. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 28, 2007 This is a very smooth beer with little carbonation. The aroma does have a hint of black cherries but the taste is not sour at all. There is also a hint of spices in the taste as well. Perhaps some nutmeg? The alcohol content does not come to the forefront of this beer.
