Commercial Description:
This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

Another rock steady Victory offering. Caramel grainy taste with medium body. Surprising body considering the alcohol. There is a bitter apple spice component mixed in.

Appears a caramel color with a 1 finger off white head. Some spotty lacing is left behind. Smell is of banana, wheat, caramel, and chocolate. Taste is of the same aromas that has been watered down slightly. Mouthfeel is fizzy, full bodied, and sweet. Drinkability is good. I’m a big fan of the style and I like Victory’s version.

Sweet vinuous malty aroma, brown sugar, sour wheats and estery yeasty goodness. Decent aroma. Cloudy dark amber, small chunks on bottom, with thin foamy lacing head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation, almost effervescent. Starts with decent wheaty sweet malt taste. Brown sugar, light caramel, medium floral bitterness. A bit watery, but once it warms it’s a pretty decent weizenbock.

Pours a deep orange with almost no head. The aroma is overwhelmingly cinnamon, spicy, cider, apples. Taste carries over the cinnamon to a wonderful degree, along with pumpkin, malts, slight bitterness, perfectly balanced. A perfect October beer.

Reddish brown body with a huge head. It even spilled a little out of my stupid Leute Bokbier glass... but I wasn’t really paying attention either. Banana, caramel come out in aroma and flavor. Can taste some alcohol in there too, but it’s not enough to be bad. Very wheaty feel to it. I don’t understand how I enjoyed this so much less than Mahrs, which is rated about a 3.5 on here.... rerate pending for that I guess.

Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Murky amber brown color thinning at the edges; looks like fresh apple cider. Incredible esters: bubblegum, apple, orange and lemon citrus, wet grass, yeast, gym sock funk, and an overall rotten sourness much like red apples beginning to go bad; perfect fall aromas. Medium to full body, full and smooth mouthfeel, flavors of all of the above wrapped up nicely in an overall yeasty malt sweetness. Sweet and sour aftertaste. The alcohol is well masked but provides a nice warmth, escpecially in the finish. Can’t say enough about this one, I loved it!

Very nice indeed. Sweet banana, some cinnamon, all yeasty and such. 8.7%? Wow, it will catch up to you, but a pleasure to drink. Only quibble- the carbonation is a wee bit too much.

Huge cushy white pillow of a head on this murky brown and thick brew. Vanilla, yeast, banana and cinnamon - very intense in nose and taste. Like a banana bread. Loveable silky mouthfeel - bit too sweet all in all for my preferences and I would say nearly overdone for this Style.
