Commercial Description:
This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

had this one with the ramstein winter wheat and what a difference. Just pouring this one after the ramstein was shocking. much lighte color kind of a translucent orangish brown, with an off-white head, fruity spicy wheaty flavor, seems almost lighter malts than some dunkels I"ve had. not a bad beer, lighter than I expected but very drinkable. I do like the imperial hefe description that really seems to hit it on the head.

Bottle Pours a hazy deep orange/amber with littel off white head that dissapears quickly. Belgian yeast and light sweet malts are on the nose and not much hops. Flavor is much the same, with a more fruity character. Aples, appricots and bananas. A soft, slightly cloudy feel and a soft carbonation. The ABV is apparent but not out of line.

Bottle courtesy of BuckNaked in trade. Pours murky amber with little head. Aroma is strange smoky yeasty banana. Flavor has some banana, smoke, some kind of citrus, and I can’t get past this smoke still. Decent overall.

Thanks to Zathrus13 for the bottle. Pours an opaque dark orange. Nice frothy white head. Earthy, yeasty aroma, very wheaty. Wheat, sweet nose melds into subtle fruit flavors, rather "banana and clove" like. The finish brings the yeasty bite, very refreshing. Alcohol character evident in the warmth experienced in the end of the finish. The body is a medium smooth, especially considering the alcohol content.

A great trade with the Good Doctor (DocLoc). A quick frothy off-white head that diminishes with no lacing. Fizzy. Slight grape aroma. Clear copper. Spicy biscuit and long lasting maltiness. Excellent on the tongue. Very quaffable for the style. Not a lot of complexity. Quite warming.

pours cloudy tan with a head the color of garlic cloves. aroma is fruity banana and some yeasty goodness with some bubblegum. tart sourness that is metallic. more banana comes through with some corriander in the finish. this really attacks my tongue, like little needles all over it. lingering pear taste. the alcohol really shows through in this one, and it does not compliment it. thanks to slob for this one.

A beautiful Orange color with a short lived tan head. Nice Clove, Banana scent with some fruit cocktail and yeasty tones. Lip smacking, sweet malt with wood and fruit. Alcohol follow but well masked. Reminds me somewhat of a mild Aventinus, good but not in that hallowed beers league.

Bottle. Coppery and not as hazy as I would have expected. Good initial head, but then it disappears, never to return. Good aroma: cloves, corriander, bubblegum, banana and some mustiness. Citrus and dryness are the first aspects to meet your tongue. Not too much, but noticeable. Caramel appears as it warms as does a slight alcohol tingle (but you’d never know it’s 8.7%) It finishes dry with both a slght alcohol and some floral hops. It’s very good, but it’s made by Victory, what else did you expect?
