Brown bodied with an off-white head, this baby smells of sweet malts, grassiness, fruity yeasts, and spices. Caramel and mild citric flavors (mainly orange), pomes, and spices come across in the taste leaving you with a warm banana, spices, and alcohol finish. A dangerous brew, since I could easily put these away all night long. The 8.7% abv just hasn’t struck me yet.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2005 Bottle. Premier Gourmet in Buffalo. Golden red brown body, fairly clear. Aroma is yeasty, but more of a Belgian like yeastiness than a wheat yeastiness. Sweet malt, touch of caramel, some alcohol as I swirl the glass. Flavour is not what I expected. Lots of sweet malt, some alcohol in the finish with very little wheaty flavours poking through. They start to come out more as it warms, but it is still more bock than weizen. Average medium bodied palate. Nice but unexciting. I had hoped for more. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma is bananas and apples. Still bananas in the flavor but it’s followed up with a shot of sweet cherries. Alcohol very present in the finish. Great weizenbock. I had 3 last night while working around the house and started feeling a little numb. Silphium (2152), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2005 Ruddy orange-red body, thin quickly dissipating off-white head. Chewy aroma of banana, clove, tangy wheat, and caramel, slightly sharp. Sweet caramely body, somewhat toasty, with plenty of banana and clove with some development of sweeter fruits (e.g., cherry) from the sugar-charged malts. Surprisingly strong; alcohol is evident at the finish, after which the banana sticks on the palate for awhile. This is a very good Weizenbock, and certainly a sipper rather than a session beer! Thanks Dan (jah noth) for the bottle! chriso (4852), London, Greater London, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 9, 2005 Big banana and clove aroma. Some citric bite coming through too in the flavours. Very rich, with a sweetish finish. A big wheat like this runs the risk of being a bit blowsy and overblown. However, whilst this is undeniably a big, bold, beer it maintains it’s balance. A classy brew. Bottled at the Green Leafe Cafe, Williamsburg.

Pours a cloudy amber with some head and no lacing.
Aroma is of a Belgian Hefe, very fruity; bananas spring to life as does light spices.
Flavor is, well, between a Bock and a Weize: Very fruity with both dark and light fruits. Definate bananas, but apricots, dates, and other fruits play with the tongue. Nicely complex.
Palate is full, to say the least. It’s got a nice bite to it. Overall, this is very nice. It’s definately worth seeking out!

The flavor is strong with alchohol and the grains especially while the yeast comes through in the finish. Only moderately sweet this seems more geared toward the grains than anything else. The alchohol becomes a slight nuisance once it warms a touch but overall the flavor stays strong. GuilTTy (538), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 2, 2005 Deep amber and a little hazy but not as hazy as many wheats. Medium light tan head and decent lacing. Malty, fruity aroma. Nice roasted malt flavor with some hops and fruity sweetness of apples and citrus zest. I thought the mouthfeel was a bit thin but it was a tasty brew all the same.
