| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 27, 2004 brown and cloudy with a little tan head. Has a barley wine type aroma full of frits and alcohol. The taste is very much full of fruits, and is also farily sour. There is a malt base that builds but stays mostly out of the way and also a mostly hidden bitterness. It has an aquward finish, sour and slightly vineous. HumuloneRed (750), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 13, 2004 Has a yeasty banana caramely nose and a cloudy dark burnt orange appearnace. It had a good head that dispersed quickly. Nice caamel and banana flavor. Can taste some alcohol, nice warmming quality. Medium to full bodied with a creamy texture. Good weizenbock a tasy brew on cold winter nights. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 11, 2004 Pours a dark redorange, with small white head. Aroma is bananas, lemon, and peaches. Flavor is malty and smooth, lemons and cloves come in, as do other fruits, and basil? sage? cant quite pick out which herb im smelling. A little thin on the palate, but a great brew! Thanks to GoldTwins for this tasty one! DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 10, 2004 Dark brandy-colored body. The aroma has the expected big malts - dark wheat bread, prunes, and maybe a little smokiness. The flavor is much "brighter" due to a big citrus taste in the start. The same dark malty elements in the aroma make a second appearance at the end of the flavor. Dry, hoppy finish with cherry sweetness. A little rough around the edges, the dry finish doesn’t sit well with the rest of the sweet flavor but otherwise a fine beer. jasonp (1510), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2004 Pours a dark cloudy amber with a quickly fading head. Aroma is spicy with cloves. Taste has strong notes of caramel, citrus and dark fruits, wheat along with belgian brew spices and yeast. Pretty complex, VERY sweet, not much bitterness. Alcohol content very well hidden. Mouthfeel is full and round. Quality brew, but it’s not really my thing. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2004 Poured a very murky light brown with a white head that dissipated completely. Aroma is very spicy with subtle fruit traces. Taste is not as sweet as I expected. The predominant flavor is spice, with some fruit tones and an alcoholic twinge to the finish. Not bad, but not as drinkable as some other weizen bocks I’ve had. chandernagor (39), Oak Park, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 5, 2004 Copper amber color, hazy, with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is full of fruit, a little bit yeasty and spicy as well. Nice sweet and sour flavor, with once again a lot of fruits (banana, orange, apple) and spices (cloves rule). Sour taste turns into tart aftertaste. Pretty nice mouthfeel despite an overall medium-bodied beer. piwodevo (53), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 3, 2004 Updated: Nov 10, 2004man does this beer come back on you the next day and make its presence known, shall we say, in an unpleasant olifactory manner. but, the beer itself is nice. lackluster head retention, good banana esters from the yeast, full body, sneaky alcohol strength. good, but the more i drink it, the less i find myself enjoying it. good for a couple pints, then diminishing returns.
