Malty caramel aroma with slightly fruity hops. Thick creamy body. Malty creamy taste with an explosive bitter hop bite. Leaves a malty bitter aftertaste. Very tasty, bu would be nice with a little aging. MaltOMeal (653), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

Nose is of sweet caramel malt with some alcohol. Taste is also the caramel malt, yet with some hint of peach. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a little alcohol present. This one has aged approx six months as the alcohol was too strong when it was fresh. Liked it a lot better with a little aging. BuckeyeSammy (455), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Darrrk amber color, minimal head. Malt, caramel nose. Palate is a bit syrupy, not overdone (due to the crisp carbonation on the front end- Makes for an interesting mouth-feel) Carmel, dark fruits, hops, spice notes, molasses back end. Good beer, let it settle for two minutes before drinking. Alcohol well hidden for a pretty high gravity beer. travita (1887), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Red to amber in color. Hazy with a big beige head to start. Smell is sweet, caramel, toffee, molasses, and alcohol. Taste is the same. Hops in there as well. Fulller bodied sort of sticky. hombrepalo (757), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Can taste the alcohol on the palate, although not overly so. Aroma is rich. Little to no lacing. has a very full bodied flavor, but it is relatively light on the tongue. Good flavor profile overall. tomthompson89 (1471), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 6, 2008 Wow!! Great barley wine!!! nice copper color, a little tiny bit of head and some nice lacing. nose is sweet, dried fruits, alcohol, and malty. Flavor is covered in sweet malt and a great warming alcohol burn on the way down. Good bitter finish. Great Job!! Beerlando (2307), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Pours a clear, reddish-orange color. A rocky, spongy, cream colored head settles slowly to a wispy film. Random, spotty lacing marks the glass. Aromatics include a malty, yeasty base of caramel, toffee, toasted bread, dark raisons, and prunes. Hop scents come off as primarily faded citrus, with almost an orange marmalade sort of sweetness. Flavors are rich, with caramel and candy sugar being spiced with bittersweet orange peel, raisons, and vodka soaked prunes. There is not nearly as much hoppiness as I expected, but it is decently balanced by the bitter citrus notes. The mouthfeel is nearly full and smooth, but leaning towards the syrupy side of things. A touch of alcoholic heat leaves a tingle on the way down. Overall, its a really good beer, but its not world class by any means. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
