AndyMills (1), Brooklyn, New York, USA does not count Apr 4, 2008 Love it. Probably my favorite Victory beer. Fruity, smooth, sweet but not as much as some barley wines. Overall a great find. I’ll have it again and again. pepsican (883), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA Apr 3, 2008 poured caramel with a thin off white head. Aroma of dried fruit and malt. Similar flavor, add candy sugar and a bit of hops in the mix. Kind of all over the place but decent. Got a lot better as it warmed up but the alcohol became a lot more noticeable GMCC2181 (845), Bear, Delaware, USA Apr 2, 2008 Updated: Jun 19, 2008Bottle: Dark red in color, medium head. OK lacing. Aroma is spice, dried fruit, malt and a touch of hops. Initally the taste is to sweet... Still, you can taste the dried fruit. The taste becomes a little bit more mellow and hoppier as you get close to the end. Easy to drink even though it has a good syrup like texture to it. The alcohol is well hidden. Over all good beer!****UPDATE**** Recently had an bottle from 03, shared by bruce. It mellowed out a little but is still sweet. dlovell2 (136), Columbia, Maryland, USA Apr 1, 2008 Amber color. Fruity malt aroma. Very complex flavor. Fruity, spicy, malty, some hop bitterness with a alcohol burn. Wow! this beer is strong! Not really my type of beer but I must give cedit when it is due. This is a nice brew! budweiserblows (31), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Apr 1, 2008 Freaking incredible. There’s really nothing wrong with it at all. Full bodied flavor which is incredibly satisfying. Flavor completely masks the elevated level of alcohol. princesslala (37), North Carolina, USA Mar 30, 2008 The beer pours a cloudy amber with a foamy cream-colored head. It has a clean, citrusy smell with a hint of caramel malts. It has a full, citrusy flavor with just the right amount of malty sweetness to balance it out. It is deceptively smooth for a beer with such a high ABV. I would want to drink this beer with a beef stew or a nice steak dinner. Carl99Fan (186), Suwanee, Georgia, USA Mar 29, 2008 I am a big barley wine fan, and was ecstatic they had this on top at the Taco Mac near the Mall of Georgia. Everything I thought it would be. Not much wrong with it. hoptimus (50), Grand Island, New York, USA Mar 27, 2008 growler. Beautiful cloudy reddish-brown appearance, very small white head. Smells of pine, fruit and alcohol. Fruity, but not as sweet as I expected, some alcohol present. Very warming finish that lingers. Nice hop character that is especially apparent in the aftertaste, but this brew is not overly hopped...nice malt balance. Excellent brew.
