Commercial Description:
Luxuriously rich in character, this warming winter ale delivers over 10% alcohol in an oh-so-seductive manner. Deliciously fruity flavors lie under a bracing hop nose.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a rapidly disappearing beige head. The aroma has a nice mix of moderately sweet malt and fruits with strong floral and pine hops. The flavor has great balance between the complex levels of hops and the moderately sweet malt backbone. I get caramel malt, orange citrus, vanilla, some alcohol, a little pepper, and hop bitterness that works well with this beer. I have had this many times over the years and it has not been its usual self for a couple of years. Recent batches are making a triumphant return to quality.

Bottle- summer sample of this winter warmer. Copper dark brown with a small simmered head. Dark fruits-plum, mashy grains with a muddled ABV that blended well. Some spice sweet textures, good sipper. Flavorful and enjoyable.

12oz bottle stamped best before 2013. Aged for well over 1 month (I’m impatient...couldn’t wait any longer). This is a very well done beer and will most likely get better with age. The alcohol taste may have been a bit on the strong side but that is understandable given the 11% it is packing.

Poured a slightly hazy dark copper with a nice creamy tan head. There was some sediment suspended in the beer after the pour. There was a nice sweet aroma of caramel and dried fruit. The beer had a creamy silky texture. On the initial taste the alcohol was detected right away, but there was a good amount of sweetness that cut the alcohol. A good hop bite developed towards the finish and a good warmth. The alcohol taste initially blends into a nice smooth sweetness and the finish is a combination of sweet and bitter with the warmth flowing over it all. Excellent beer!!!!!!!!

Rating #700! I’m obsessed with this stuff but still haven’t gone as far as BJCPing it or quitting my day job or whatnot. What can I say, I’m a maverick I guess. Anyway, back to O.H. Bottle from Wegman’s in Princeton, NJ. Drank it at 10am while my little sister was graduating college (pure class, I know). The stuff is damn good. Made Katie Couric’s speech much better, that’s for sure. Copper color with a big beige head. Sweet caramel malt on the aroma with dark fruits. Aroma is loads of caramel malt, raisin, plum, fig, spices, brown sugar, and of course alcohol. Smooth, full, and syrupy palate that really hit the spot on a crisp New Jersey spring morning. A winner - or "victory" if you will. Zing!

Like many of the barleywines, the sweet malty aroma is abundant. However, the victory signature is apparent in the quality of the finish. Very smooth and a wonderful taste in a cool setting.

Truly loved this offering from Victory. Best before 5-2013 on the bottle I am aging 2 bottles.. I might have to buy more because this was a very nice beer. Smells of raisins and plums with a hearty malt and sugary love going on here. Pours a copper that has a nice shine to it with a good amount of white head. Medium to full syrup body with a very nice balanced carbonation and very smooth finish. Flavor was almost top notch. Sweet Old school cameral shop flavors going on. Brown sugar with a very nice balanced hop profile. The 11% is hidden on this one and it will creep up on you in a hurry.. Very Nice Brew
