Commercial Description:
Luxuriously rich in character, this warming winter ale delivers over 10% alcohol in an oh-so-seductive manner. Deliciously fruity flavors lie under a bracing hop nose.

12oz bottle in Seattle. Definitely in the American style with the hops appearing in the aroma and flavour, but not overpowering. Sweet caramel and a touch of bourbon also there. Really didn’t notice the 10+ ABV.

Thanks to HogTownHarry. Appearance: still, ruby red, no head. Aroma: wow, dark fruit, bread, caramel, honey. Very floral. Flavour: rye, alcohol, dark fruit, spices, like a malty sherry. Long tangy dark fruit finish. Alcohol blended superbly. Lovely.

Thanks Drewbeerme for this one for his bachealor party. 12oz Orange amber with small white head. Orange and sweet aroma. Orange sweet, pine with bubblegum flavor, very well done. Med body. Nice overall like to try this one again. ------- 1/25/08 Bottle, expiration date is 2011. Cloudy orange brown with medium beige head. Aroma is big alc, caramel, citrus fruit, lots of of orange hops, very nice. Big alc, perfumy, sweet malt, okay. Medium body and lots of burn. Not as good as I remembered.

2005 - Very beautiful deep red body, very creamy beige head; Medium sized very settled well composed nose; Velvety textured body with velvety soft carbonation, sweet, bitter and warm; Long elegant balanced finish, soft in beginning, warming with length. Very drinkable, exactly what I needed on the first Danish hot summer day. I think it lacks a bit over power in every aspect to be a top contender, though.

Very good barleywine ale. Wonderful flavor with caramel in the malt. Has a very long light floral hop finish. Nary a hint of the 11% ABV. Exquisite.

Pours a dark orange color with a white head. Aroma of hops and alcohol. Tastes is of strong bitter hops with an alcohol burn/malty finish. Drinkable, but overrated.

Bottle. Aroma of caramel malt, alcohol, and some dark fruit. Initial flavor is of sweet malt, followed by some spice and alcohol, and finishes with grapefruit like bitterness. A little too peppery for my taste.
