Strong nose - caramel and malt. Medium chewy mouthfeel. Light carbonation - perfect. Good balance between malt and hops. Slight winey flavors. Strong finish - bittersweet - with a bit of heat. Excellent price/value for a barley wine! iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Light alcohol tickles the nose, while soft juicy pears and oranges sqeeze freshly picked hop leaves. Smooth, creamy, silky. . . dry hoppy finish, with lingering whisps of alcohol, grapefruit and sweet caramel. Amazing. baobubba (450), Corvallis, Oregon, USA

Amazing aroma that reminds me of fruit stands in Eastern Washington - sticky, dusty, cooked earth, hay/farm grain, with some dehydrated apricots and prunes. The brew is sweet and full bodied, but not syrupy. The earthy, hay, and caramel/toast aromas come out on the taste. Slight bitterness on the finish. Excellent barley wine. Chewy and robust, firm malts are perfectly balanced in this medium to full bodied brew by big flowery hops. A terribly smooth barleywine, remarkable and one of the best of the style. It smells like a hoppy spring morning mixed with toast, loads of burnt sugar, and slight alcohol and caramel. The flavor starts of with bitter hops, but continues with alcohol and huge malts, dark fruit, and alcohol as it warms. This is a fantastic barley wine, both times I’ve had this. Pours a nice darker amber color with a nice off-white head. Aroma is very malty, hints of carmel and maybe fruit. Taste is very sweet and malty, with only a slightly alcohol taste left afterwards. Boooyeta.
