Feb 20, 2007 This barley wine has a strong hops aroma accented with grapefruit. The beer pours an amber brown with a thick orange color and orange tinted head of long duration. A thick creamy flavor, good, complex, changes a bit in the mouth. A bitter punch evens out with chocolaty sweet syrup flavors, some pine and grapefruit flavors and a light saltiness. Creamy on the palate with a honeylike consistency. Very good and warming.

May 4, 2008 Bottle. Poured deep amber browh with a lot of froth. Caramel and hops aroma. Full malty flavour with a bit of bitterness but much caramel sweetness.Lasting malt finish with alcohol warmth.

Dec 20, 2006 Having noticed that each night I keep picking one of these out of my well-stocked fridge (it is the holiday season), I surmise that I must really like this beer. I like barleywines in general but this is one of the smoothest ones with no off tastes or harsh notes. The alcohol is not overwhelming but the result is smooth and warming. I had one at the Victory brewpub several years ago and thought it was the effect of a Storm King that made me enjoy it so. This was the first bottled version I have had since local distributors don’t generally carry it. Time to place an order.

Jun 18, 2007 12 oz bottle accidently purchased at South Bay drug. Nice amber reddish pour with little head that dissapated quickly. Aromas of fruits, flowers, and hops. Nice flavors of malts and hops balance out well with tastes of little alcohol. Very good, and a nice surprise.

The first time i had a barleywine was a SN Bigfoot. This one is quite a bit smoother. Pours a nice dark amber color. Nice thick head :unsure: . But the drinkability for 11% is freaking great. Just a solid brew. JTG, :hifuckingfive:

Dec 20, 2007 12oz bottle.Pours deep red,. Tan head, good lacing, aroma is hops and toffee. Taste is sweet with lots of hops. Big beer but no tast of alcohol. Awesome beer.

Jul 6, 2007 Bottle from john_adam2002. Pours with a thin creamy head of fine bubbles blanketing the surface of dark amber beer. Great looking beer. Malty citrus aroma. Flavor starts off leaning towards a nice hoppy bitterness, but then leans towards malty sweetness as the beer warms up. Well and very drinkable, despite the 10.5%. Could do with a bit of aging, but very good as is! Mmmmm tasty.
