Commercial Description:
Luxuriously rich in character, this warming winter ale delivers over 10% alcohol in an oh-so-seductive manner. Deliciously fruity flavors lie under a bracing hop nose.

(Bottle) Pours a hazy orangish-amber color with a medium-sized beige head. Has a rich hops aroma and a delicious hoppy and citrus flavor. Creamy mouthfeel.

Definitely not a letdown! Super malty, lots of sweet flavors. Incredibly smooth for a barleywine, which actually is a good thing. I'm loving Victory.

bottle. pours a dark amber tinted brown. slight ring of a tan head remains. wonderful sharp roast sweetness in the nose. fruity malt flavor that gives way to a nice hop bite. very warming. thick viscous mouthfeel that embraces my tongue. the malt flavor sticks around on this one, i can actually taste the grains. this is fantastic, thanks for the bottle, Bunkypop.

Redish brown color with a thin head. Great aroma of caramel, alcohol and maybe hops. Very good flavor of caramel, alcohol, maybe spices too. Light to medium body. Very good barley wine, I enjoyed it a lot.

Bottle: Bottled January 11, 2005. Citrus hoppy aroma with banana bread and some malty fruitiness. Pours a dark transparent amber with a big off-white head with excellent retention. Very nice lacing. Malty up front with caramel, fruit, and light banana bread. Citrus hops in the finish, but not as much as I anticipated considering it only a few months old. Alcohol covered up very well, a touch of burn is really only noticeable if you’re looking for it. More malt and more fruit compared to some hopped up American barley wines (not that I have a problem with hopped up barley wines). Very nice.

Same batch as above. The aroma is a combination of caramel, chocolate, real light fruitiness, and light oxidized. There is also a moderate alcohol that I didn’t get previously. In the flavor, the caramel has intensified with some light chocolate and banana bread. Slight oxidation and extremely mild citrus hops in the finish. There is no burn at all as I noted before. Nice and interesting to see the difference, but I liked it better when it was more fresh.

Thanks to Strykzone for this superb beer. From a 12 oz bottle it poured a deep garnet color with a moderate light tan head and good lacing rings. The nose is caramel malts with ripe fruit, citrus, and alcohol. Very rich and creamy mouthfeel and a medium to heavy body. Lots of tantalizing flavors with ripe fruit and moving to a nice bitter citrus finish. A simply sublime American Barley Wine.

Bottle. A very nice ultra amber / copper color. Thin golden head. Estery, but not a huge nose by any means. Flavors of good rum, hot nuts, and cereal. A bit of resin. Don’t get the fruit others have noted. A long clean finish . Not terribly complex, but very well crafted. I would have rated it a "20 " except it was a bit too thin and hot. Much obliged to DocLock for this wonder.

bottled 12-03-04dumped into a snifter glass to give off an orange/redish body with a white ring around the glass.i gathered a lovely aroma of red liquorice, hops, and cotton candy.the flavor was much in the same.i was surprised at how well balanced this was considering its age.very smooth and drinkabke, yet still full of that barleywine flavor.yummy.RE-RATE 3-07-07-WOW either this went down hill (like storm king did)or this just isnt the b.w. ithought it was.a little thin,a little watery...damn is it me?
