There are a number of good things to say about Prima Pils: it looks pretty good with nice colour and good carbonation and head retention. Unfortunately, that is about it. It smells and tastes like a typical American micro-brew, too much of everything: malt taste and way over-hopped. I know of no German Pils which has anywhere near the hop/floral aspect of Prima Pils. So, my rating is: good American micro, poor German Pils. BelgianBeerGal (1283), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2008 Bottled. Pours a clear golden, yellow colour with lots of carbonation and a thin white head. Nice citrus hop aroma plus some sweetness balance. The hops are the first thing to hit the tongue, then the malt balances it well and it finishes with a bit of dry spice. Definitely near the top of the pils class. TheGent (148), , Massachusetts, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Pretty cool beer for a style I commonly pass on. appearance was normal slight gold yellow and a spicey smell that was worth sticking my nose in all during the tasteing. What really impressed was the progress of flavor. off the bat is a hops spice that goes into a quick berry like sweetness and than finishes with the bitterness which lingers. masonjer (563), Holt, Michigan, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Poured very light yellow into the glass with a thin white head. Aroma was a touch of sweetness and some sharp dry hops. Taste was a touch of grainy sweetness and a quick punch of musty and earthy hops. Nothing that detracts here, just super stripped down and simple. Not the best balance for a pils. smjohnst (202), , Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Pours out a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is of hops and grainy malts. Surprisingly full-flavored, very hoppy, with nice malt character to it as well. Medium-bodied, long dry finish. This is a great Pilsener. tgncc (809), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Aroma is slightly hoppy, spicy, earthy. The appearance is straw gold, thin white head. The flavor is somewhat malty, grassy and certainly hoppy. The hops leave a little sting on the finish. Not bad, better than some German pilseners out there. In fairness, this is far from my favorite style. Not bad overall. IlanMan (817), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 30, 2008 I tried this a few months ago but the beer was over a year expired. This time, the beer was only 3 months expired so I am working my way up. Aroma was slightly hoppy and with a hint of czech spice. Flavor was again slightly hoppy, smooth, and an easy drink. Not a bad brew at all but nothing I would write home about.
