The hops come through in the aroma, and the balance in the taste with the malt is perfect. Not too weak, not too strong. Very clean, easy to drink beer. For a pilsener, it’s great, but if you don’t like pilseners in general, it won’t hurt to pass this one up. slverbulet7 (3), USA does not count | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 27, 2008 Great pilsener. Strong finish with lots of hops. I like it alone, good at the end of the day. gueuzeisgod (109), Graham, North Carolina, USA

Has a nice proteiny head that laces the glass, good floral hop aroma. Bigger than usual hop bitterness- bridges the gap between continental pils and big hoppy American beers. Easy drinking, good clean flavor, very nicely brewed, I could have a keg of this on tap at all times. Few if any other US breweries can make a pils like this. Gets a solid 4. Nice golden color with a white fluffy head. Pretty sweet for a pilsner but a nice bite in the finish. Medium bodied and refreshing. Very good choice for a pils ndubs360 (114), portland, Oregon, USA

Poured a "macro" clear pale yellow with a small and quickly dissapating white head. Aroma was mostly sweet German lager malts and a decent Sazz hop profile too (which was pleasing). Taste was mostly the sweet lager malt up front but a nice dose of hop flavor and bitterness. It tastes alot like Heineken and other macro lagers but with more crisp and fresh flavors and a stronger hop profile and finish. Mouthfeel is a little sticky but light and refreshing. A good pilsner but not my cup of tea. If Im gonna drink a basic lager thought I would much rather it be this than a dreaded macro. wetherel (1589), Encinitas, California, USA

Also some feet in the aroma. I don’t think the lines were clean. I need to try this again from bottle or something. jcp23 (47), Duluth, Georgia, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 25, 2008 Light, clear, golden pour with thin white head. Nasty aroma of every crummy lager I’ve ever smelled. I guess this just isn’t my style. With all the build up and hype I had heard about this beer, I was really expecting something more. I don’t get what all the fuss is about. The "heaps o’ hops" are definitely hidden...umm; why have hops if you are going to hide them? But I sure get a heap o’ lingering German malt unpleasantness on the back of my tongue. Like licking an ashtray. For all you folks who like this stuff, knock yourselves out. I’ll take a nice a pale ale or IPA any day.
