Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 4, 2008 From a 12oz. bottle--Poured a golden-straw yellow body with a small, but attractive white head. Sweet floral nose with some Pilsner spiciness in there. Slightly earthy and grassy, but overwhelmingly tasted of honey. Very nice beer from a solid brewery! kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Feb 3, 2008 Updated: Apr 10, 2008It’s a beer with that excellent pale straw yellow pour. The head is nice and laces the glass like it should, moderately light. This beer has a supreme bland skunky aroma like a good pils should and I haven’t even tasted it yet. Dare I say it’s pale yet cloudy... awesome. The flavor is something to relish in. It’s underground, earthen, medium hop bitter, a little funky and sour, full, full flavored, and the taste lasts. The consistency is pure refreshment. Prosit! ketchepillar (475), Viña del Mar, Chile Jan 29, 2008 Pours fairly pale yellow w/ bubbly white head. It’s pretty good, if only falling slightly too far onto the grainy side (not sweet though), but I bit if this were very fresh with more hops in the aroma, it would be even better. A little metallic. Finishes dry and crisp as it should. moseslikesbeer (183), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 29, 2008 bottle. good light gold color. white head that didn’t last. great lacing. didn’t care for the smell. the description says "heaps o’ hops" and their not kidding. a tad too much hops for my taste. kind of had a sour orange feel. really not ok with the palate on this one. leaves my mouth feeling like an orange basket from lips to my stomach. afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 28, 2008 bottle. pours a light golden color with large white head. heavily carbonated, bubbles last throughout the entire glass. has an herbal, grassy, citrus smell. lightly sweet with a good balance of hop bitterness. beautiful thick lace clings all the way down the glass. very refreshing. fakepurseninja (772), Washington, USA Jan 27, 2008 Heavy malt base spiked with a very apparent herbal, grassy, floral presence. Moderate lemon citrus. Eclectic malt body. Satisfying amd refreshing. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jan 26, 2008 Pale saffron body with a one-finger light-tan head that gradually reduces to a thin cap.
Husky malt with a very herbal hop sharpness on top. Some lemongrass and floweriness.
Grassy hops are at the fore here. The herbal quality runs over the light biscuity malt flavor before melding into a refreshing bitterness. The finish maintains this raw hop bitterness and introduces a sweeter malt flavor, perhaps honey-like. Some lemon zest on the sides of the tongue.
Lively carbonation, light body, and extremely refreshing. Smooth in the mouth and very easy to drink. This is the Reality Czeck of German Pilseners. MoDog (909), Griffith, Indiana, USA Jan 25, 2008 Updated: Jul 28, 2009Poured from a 12oz bottle and served in a shaker. This pilsener poured a clear golden with a large, foamy white head that slowly faded away. Thin, spider-web like lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of spicy hops, fresh bread, and hay. The flavor included upfront herbal hops, biscuit, lightly sweet malts, and also a bit of lemony citrus. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and crisp with a moderate amount of carbonation, finishing with a dry, lasting, light bitterness. A really nice pilsener, and a great session beer. 7,3,7,3,14-3.4
Rerate: As time goes on and a decent number of sixers have passed through my fridge, this is becoming one of my go-to beers. Awsome Saaz aroma and taste. Consistent quality and ever enjoyable. A great pilsner! 8,4,8,4,16-4.0
