Delightfully light texture, long, welcome finish. Truly this must be the thinking man's "lawnmower beer". Possesses a certain zing that reminds me somehow of Duvel. I'm normally an ale man, but I would never pass up on
this pilsner. Are the fine folks of Downington, PA aware that among their modest ranks walk these brewing gods disguised as mortals?

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 24, 2003 I was prepared for disappointment. I have consistently rated Victory products well below other raters here. I was quite pleasantly surprised. Perfect pils appearance, a restrained aroma of wheat bread, dough, and hops. The taste is fantastic. I was prepared to be bowled over by a hop assault, but this is a balanced beer. Solid malt backbone with fresh Saaz leading the charge, with a fantastic hop aftertaste. Very, very well done. Its hard to hide mistakes in a pilsner, and they have nothing to hide here. An impressive beer. DYCSoccer17 (2201), Davis, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 6, 2003 Pours golden transparent with a robust frothy white head. Aroma is of citrus and yeast. Start is very bitter which smooths and then finished with a bitter aftertaste. Average. A disappointment from Victory. willblake (2190), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 5, 2004 Pale, but brilliant golden hue under a medium, frothy head. Floral, malt, bright aroma smells fresh. First taste is surprisingly hoppy. It takes a few sips to find the subtle malts in the background, but it is a worthwhile search. Nicely clean and even cleansing finish, a nice beer for a chili meal. Hoppy and bitter as an APA or IPA, but much lighter and more brisk. If this is what good pilsners are like, then maybe I enjoy the style after all. blutt59 (2172), Dallas, Texas, USA

Fresh grassy European hop aroma with some nice pepper as well. Nice even bitterness with hints of butter, honey, salt, ginger spice, and pepper. A great pils. EithCubes (2171), Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2006 Bottle. Strong, grassy, floral hops in the nose. Clear yellow pour with light carb and a fluffy white head. Tasty bitterness balanced with peripheral sweetness. Powerful taste just grabs you and refuses to let go…. Smooth mf, soft water, and a light bit along with the light body. On the whole, high praise for this beer, probably the closest to a German Pils I’ve had in the States, a lovely offering, though I’ll wait a bit longer before crowning it the best in the country.
