It now smells like yeast, and the hop aroma and flavor are rather dull and restrained. And the pilsner malt sorely lacks vividness. Rather unclean. PhillyBeer2112 (2089), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 16, 2001 Updated: Nov 2, 2003As hoppy a pilsner as I've ever had. Aroma is curious and fun with spicy and grassy notes, with a tinge of orange rind. Flavor is dominated by hops (spicy, hints of resin begin to appear) with a strongly bitter finish. Malt is hard to detect. At this low gravity, this beer is almost as puckeringly bitter as some 100+ IBU hop monsters, and probably explains some of this beer's appeal. To me, its unbalanced. Cutting the hops back even just a little bit would greatly improve its drinkability while retaining its bold character. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2006 Pours yellow with a small head and moderate carbonation. Aroma has clean malts and light spicy hops. The beer is very light and crisp with a nice amount of carbonation. There are clean refreshing malts first and then a nice floral hop finish. An overall refreshing beer that is also high on flavor. Too bad more pils aren’t like this - very nice beer. radiomgb (2068), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 8, 2009 bottle - Pours slightly hazy light gold with a one finger white head. The aroma is of floral hops and some bready malt. The flavor has that bready malt taking a backseat to the dry floral and grassy tasting hops. This light bodied brew is a pretty good session brew. I’m not convinced that rating it higher than the classic Pilsner Urqell is justified though, so I won’t. cheapdark (2044), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 27, 2007 12 oz brown bottle. Pop lid for a musty yeast arome, in a good way. Pours like any other common pale yellow american beer. has a shallow froth on top. Initially the flavor is fruity hoppy. Not real bitter hoppy. Taste is much better than the label indicates. As you drink, the bitterness in the finish begins to build. Good creamy micro bubble palate. Pretty enjoyable, except for that medium hoppy kick. It leaves you bitter for a few moments after the last sip. Rather enjoyable for a hoppy brew but less enjoyable than a well behaved gentleman’s lager. Not as good as Bavik, but OK. Right along side of Schell and Urquell.
