Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: 2 row German pale malt; Czech Saaz, German Northern Brewer hops.
Heaps o’ hops are hiding under the full, frothy head of this elegant Pils. All German malt subtleties linger beneath a long dry finish of this classy quencher.

Bottle, 12oz, at Copenhagen Beer Festival. A clear, almost golden beer with a decent white head. Lovely nose with citrusy hops doing most of the job, but supported by pale malts. Fine flavor of citrusy, piney hops blending with the pale malts that add some sweetness. Fine bitterness too, with a lasting finish. Nicely carbonated, medium body and rather dry. A lovely pils, giving the finger to Scandinavian pilsners. (Or "pilsners"). (090516)

Citrusy, grassy hops on a soft sweet banana carpet...Dry feel of hay accompanied by a light lactic note and an eagerness to try more...This is a superbly efficient trip to Bavaria...

Bottled: Golden coloured. Hazy. Off white head. Grainy and hayish aroma. Some hops and fruitnotes. Is medium hopped and crisp. Some fruitnotes. Ends on a light bitter and flowery note. This might be a really good beer when fresh, but this is a little too old. Thanks Springslicker for trading. Rerated at a blindtasting by Papsoe 19th. June 2008. Original rate 7-3-6-3-12

Pours gold with a finger’s length white head and nice medium bubbles that subside quickly. Smells of bananas, nutmeg, grapefruit and some other scents I cannot quite place. Unusually malty in taste and not quite as bitter as I’ve come to expect out of a pilsner. Slight bitter finish. Not bad overall.

Cloudy white lasting head on top of a golden coloured brew. Sticky lacing as well. Floral, fruity aroma, citrusy orange, with a prominent spiciness as well. Nice balance of flavour between malt and hops. Malty sweetness up front with a hint of light caramel. Spicy hop flavour and a nice lingering bitterness. Quality stuff... wish I had some more.

Re-rated needed... or maybe not, whatever, this beer is good. Slightly skunky "typical lager" aroma which is smoothed by faint citrus. Flavors of grapefruit juice, almost like a sweet hefeweizen. Good body, probably the best pilsner I’ve had.

One of the best Pilseners from the U.S. Nice clear yellow, lively carbonation, a foamy white head - - All of that sets you up for a crisp, tasty beer, sweet malt with solid floral hop bitterness. That hopping comes out excellently in the aroma as well as in the snappy, bitter finish. This is a beer to keep on hand to get your BMC friends introduced to quality craft beers.

Additional comments: Noble hops and mild vanilla and malt nose. Lots of hops. Late malt flavors are lightly buttery. A cross between a czech and german pils. A little to hoppy to set and enjoy a bunch on any given day, but a good one for just a single or two night. Original Comments 5/8/02 - I decent german pils. A bit overbalance hops of Saaz and Northern Brewer. Nice clear straw color with good head and lace.
