Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: 2 row German pale malt; Czech Saaz, German Northern Brewer hops.
Heaps o’ hops are hiding under the full, frothy head of this elegant Pils. All German malt subtleties linger beneath a long dry finish of this classy quencher.

Golden colour with nice frothy head. Dry malt aroma with some german hops. Dry bitterness coming from Saaz hops (?)which lingers pleasantly. A classic pils.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), moderately yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent. Quite yeasty/unrefined. Not a very good example IMHO.

Light golden color, huge bubbles, generous fast-dying head. Big, big nose: apricots, 7-up (lemon/lime), slight date/caramel maltiness. Great dry/bitter flavor -- at the opposite end of the spectrum from Lakefront’s Klisch Pilsener, my other favorite American Pils; this is like the driest of champagne, with dominant grapefruit and orange flavors, giant hop bitterness, but a decent body and woody maltiness to balance. Long tough finish. Absolutely great pils, refreshing but not something you can toss back brainlessly. Starting to get the picture on this brewery...

Bottle. Voldby Ølmesse. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. Standard pilsner, how it can get so high ratings I dont understand. Maybee its because it doesnt have so many ratings....

Aroma of grassy hop supported by a light malt. Pale golden color with a frothy white head that leaves shards of lacing. Slightly less than medium bodied, something of a floral and fruit hop, and the malt tends to be dominated by the hop. The finish is relatively dry and the bitter is moderate. Not quite my concept of a pilsener (floral?), but generally in line with the style. It is a mouth pleaser. It is just excellent with string cheese!

Thin white head. The body is a rich gold color with few bubbles. Aroma is floral and slightly herbal. Also notes of iced tea. The taste the taste has strong vegetable notes with some earthy hops to back it up. A little carrots, ginger and some white bread. Interesting and solid for the style. Thanks civforprez for bringing this one to me. Trying agian recently as it arrived fresh in Iowa. Solid and it is a prime example of the style.

Herbal, leafy tobacco and grainy malts in the nose. Clear pale gold with thin but lasting cover of bright white head. Floral, spicy hop flavour with fair bitterness and an apparent cereal malt base. Light, refreshing body with fair carbonation. Sampled at Mondial de la Bière 2005.
