Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Oct 15, 2000 If theres something better than a bock, its a double bock. Big robust malty nose and a hop floral undertone and a big belly warming ABV. Quite strong and not meant for the average beer drinker. Need to by a batch and store.
Jsawyer (16), , Pennsylvania, USA Oct 7, 2008 Bottled. Dark umber color beige head. Nice lacing. Malt and dark fruit nose, light hop character. Sweet roast malt flavor balanced with dark fruit (raisins, black cherry) undertones of floral hops. Very smooth and drinkable. dkachur (881), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Oct 6, 2008 12 oz. bottle shared by Alraomon. Thanks Sean! Pours a cranberry color with a thin tan head. Very wheaty dark fruit aroma. Taste is bitter hops, bread, raisin, toffee and caramel. Full bodied, smooth and slightly tart. Beerman6686 (780), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2008 Poured a nice brown color with an off hwite head. Aroma was roasted malts, dark fruits and a little nutty. Flavor was a bit more fruity than the aroma covered up with nice roasty malts. The alcohol comes through a little bit 1_2many (231), Ohio, USA Aug 30, 2008 Bottle. Clear dark burgundy with a moderate head dissapating to a thin film with decent lacing. Aroma is toasty malt, caramel, and some fruit. Not a strong aroma but complex and interesting. Flavor is sweet with a mild bitterness towards the end and some fruit notes. Smooth, medium bodied, very drinkable. BeerBlitz (47), Roslyn, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 5, 2008 12 oz bottle; Easy drinkin’, baby. I must say I find it impossible to believe it’s almost 8 percent. Tremendous aroma with many components. Dark brown color, clear, leaving a small light tan head. Somewhat sweet and malty taste. Medium to light in body, leaving a pleasant aftertaste.
