Commercial Description:
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

12oz bottle. year old. dark oily black color, hoppy aroma. didn’t get a lot of roast, chocolate or coffee. just lots of hops. good beer but I’d like to try a fresher bottle see how they compare.

Thanks to styles for the aged bottle from 2003. Pours jet black with a minor ring of brown foam around the outside of the glass. Smells of powdered cocoa, mild coffee, vanilla, and alcohol. Dark fruits, walnut, and caramel are also detectable in the flavor. Betters as it warms. Worthy of sipping and celebrating with.

A fantastic and simple stout. 9.1% and tastes it, not too weak, not too strong. It’s inky black with mild tan head. Nose is burnt roasts and nutty with a slight smokiness. Mouthfeel is oily and thick and stands out as a traditional imperial stout. Not as overwhelming as Bell’s amazing Expedition Stout, but very similar. More please.

Pours a nasty oily black with a creamy caramel colored 1 finger head. Smells of robust dark malts and espresso as the prominent aromas. There is also a nice rummy alcohol in there. This beer has a nice bitter taste with a smooth lingering plum and raisin aftertaste. This is a very smooth and easy to drink beer. Yeah 3 is good. 4 is better. 5 is gonna hurt. 6 will tuck me in for a good long nap.

bottle - Pours black with a lingering tan head. It has an assertive aroma of roast malt, hops, and chocolate. The flavor is of dark roast malt, dark chocolate, and very aggressive hops that lead into a lingering bitter finish. Huge flavor. Excellent beer.
